    Expanding foam on T&E

Hi all I'm currently in the process of finishing off the last room in my house. It's a bedroom above a garage, which was part of an extension built before I bought the house. After removing all of the skirts, there's large gaps which I think causes drafts. I'm planning to use expaning...

    Extractor fan wiring

Here's another thing to think about. If my electrician comes and spurs my bathroom lights of a FCU, will this affect my gu10 led spot lights?

    Extractor fan wiring

Completely understand. I work in manufacturing and I know manufacturers standardise products and only really tweak them when they have to. I had one of these in my old property which was wired to a 3 pole and that was it. It will be the same product only manufactured more recently...

    Extractor fan wiring

Cheers for that. I'll see what he does next weekend. I'm assuming the best way to do it is, run the light circuit to a fuse spur above the centre of the door, then spur off to the first spotlight then wire in as normal with a 3 pole switch above the door or to the side. I've read quite a...

    Extractor fan wiring

Well I've decided to get the professional in to do it next weekend which will save me the hassle. From what I gather it's a standard Airflow Icon 15 with a timer module that clicks into the pins on the fan. The module has L, N and T on. Not sure what the T stands for to be honest. OUt of...

    Extractor fan wiring

I'm on option A but it's the same thing. Just trying to work out where this would go. if it went before the bathroom light that means the other lights on the radial will be affected and not sure if that will cause any problems and if this is the case the the whole lighting circuit should be...

    Extractor fan wiring

The lighting circuit has rcd protection (full rewire last year). In regards to fused down... No. I didn't know that was a requirement. My other fan in the other bathroom doesn't have this and I had an icon 15 in my last house and that didn't. I better have a look

    Extractor fan wiring

Cheers spark Out of curiosity does it matter which side you put which cable in the switch. For example the one I have has l1 l2 & N at the top and there's the same at the bottom. The cable from the light, where the power is coming from, should that be at the top or does it not matter?

    Extractor fan wiring

Just fitted an extractor fan into our bath room and ran the cables into place. I've got a schneider 3 pole isolation switch and terminals are marked Live 1 Live 3 and neutral. Which of the lives go to the timer and which one goes to the switch? Or can I use either? Thanks Jacka

Dry lining boxes back to back in stud wall

There's already one socket in place. I'm just putting one on the back of it. My house is a 1960s build so would have thought they would be enough room but just wanted to check. I'm using Appleby boxes but not sure what size they are

Quick question for an electrician I've want to fit a socket on the other side of a stud wall. Is there enough room generally to fit dry lining boxes back to back? I just don't want to cut the hole only to find out they both won't fit. Cheers david
