Thanks, as I had the lid off I put my "lughole" in danger and moved very close, I am pretty sure now that the buzzing is coming from the lower area, so will try to sort out the motor. Many thanks.

Hi all, I have a Hotpoint VTD00 tumble dryer that seems to work fine, until I believe the reversal is reached, and I get a buzzing but due to not wanting to take off the side whilst the power is on, I'm not sure if it's coming from the timer or the motor? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ask the Council if they are getting two lots of tax? It was suggested to me some time ago, that once they get that, they don't concern themselves with things anymore.

Mines a Concord WRS 40 ( I think Ideal make), which now is about forty years old. Only ever had to replace a thermocouple but I do not use it conventionally, but then again, I don't have television, so that paints a picture.

How about looking at recently approved extensions on their website to establish what is acceptable. Someone locally may have had the same thing but overcome the obstacles.

Hi, I am pretty sure that the motor has carbon brushes, and these should be checked. If they are well worn, replacing them could be a solution. Worth a look before considering replacing a machine.

You could answer all of those questions by asking for examples of their work, i.e. arranging to view previous work, with their suggestion, then being able to talk to people at those sites; then theirs and the tradesman's reply would surely give you that information?

You need to check the element, once the power is disconnected. You may even feel a "blow out" or break; I suspect the element is allowing power to earth. POWER OFF.

Are your neighbours suffering too? If they are it's something around the area, if not, it's definitely in your place. Can you get a "zapper" light, one of those UV type thingies, even to borrow, until they are gone?

How about wiring the fitting to a 13amp plug and try that in a socket?
