    How do you measure the lengh of an immersion heating element

    Lol oh dear perhaps I didn't explain myself clearly enough apologies for that. Using a tape measure isn't a problem its just which bit to measure. Is it as simple as top to bottom or do I measure from the flange down, the element down or even the thermostat down?

    I do believe it is from the incoming cable as I cannot find an earth rod. And yes it is a lot of work as there's no easy way to wire it internally and hiding the cable but I have a few ideas. If the earthing on the water is adequate then that would be a big help. I just cant help but...
