    wood under joists

On the ground floor my joists are supported by mini walls. On top are small pieces of wood which sit on top of the stone but support the joists. Some are rotten and I would like to replace them, any ideas on how I could the old stuff out and the new ones in?

    Ply or Fibreboard?

Would fibreboard have any benefits over using plywood for an underlay when using laminate flooring. It's going on ground floor so sound proofing isn't essential, I only need it to level the uneven floor boards and to insulate it as well. I would use 7mm fibreboard or 12mm ply, not the thin stuff.

    Laminate Question

Yea where the wood meets the concrete it kind of peaks then drops off slightly. My other thought would be lay 4mm hardboard everywhere apart from the higher part to raise it level then lay the underlay over that to hopefully create a level flat surface.

    Grass Help

No i layed the seed straight onto the soil. Can you recommend a good lawn feed? Ive forked the areas that seem to be struggling incase the ground is too compact and i think i will try a liquid feed next. We have had a dry period but i watered it everyday.
