    I've done some further checking and will be looking to install two 5ft tubes on each side of the garage fixed to the joists and a 6ft tube above the work tops. I will also be painting the walls white in order to help brighten things up

    Related to the hallway, the walls are painted in natural hessian as shown in pics. Again, is it worth changing to more of a white. The ceiling and the coving is already in brilliant white

    I dont think it would take much to remove the paint on the newal post but trying to find the correct shade of varnish/stain would be difficult and if it wasnt a 100% match it would look odd

    I do agree there are alot of different shades of brown and freshen up the area mentioned in pure brilliant white. This was originally done in satinwood not gloss so will do the same again. Thanks for all your help and guidance, much appreciated

    Feature Wall colout help

    I mean a sublte colour such as Almond White for the main wall. This would mesan the three other walls would remain in Terracota. The ceiling and skirting boards are a shade of cream. Would it be worth doing those in pure brilliant white or the Almond White similar to the main wall?
