    380V on/off switch for powertools

You mean they don't adhere to british standards????:LOL::LOL: Point taken...I will leave them alone. Although that Toolstation switch does seem excessive for what I need, I mean it is nearly as large as the router itself

    380V on/off switch for powertools

Thank you. I was looking at something simpler, more along the lines of this. What do you think? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00OKIRZP6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3BA88TJPXCGJW&psc=1

Copper pipe table - what lacquer?

So I'm polishing it up using both brasso and peek, making sure not to actually touch the metal after cleaning. When you say varnish, what exactly do you mean as I know from doing bits of woodwork that it is a broad term and there are lots of variations. Someone suggested just clear spray...

    380V on/off switch for powertools

I'm just building a router table for my 1/4" hand router and will be installing a separate on/off switch or NVR switch. In searching for switches its seems a lot more common to find 380v than 220/240v switches. Will one of these 380v switches be ok to use?

Copper pipe table - what lacquer?

So I designed and built this copper pipe table and are in the process of now building the wooden top but want to prevent the copper from tarnishing as much as possible. Really not sure what to use. Any suggestions?

Nail gun for feather edge fencing

Yes it was the Airstrike and brand new. It was on eBay the other day when they did 20% off everything. Originally £135 then 20% off so came to about £108. Didn't get it in the end though :(

Nail gun for feather edge fencing

Got to replace over 20m of 2.8m feather edge fencing. Was looking to get a nail gun to help. As I've got quite a lot of ryobi one+ tools they were the obvious choice. They go 16 and and 18 gauge. The 18 gauge is quite cheap at the moment (about £100) but not sure if it will be suitable for the...

    Change of tyre size

Budget wise I was only looking for two as they are normally £120 each for the normal size. But the 225s have halved in price so can get 4. Didn't think there would be an issue but just needed to check

    Change of tyre size

My VW Passat is currently running on 235/45/r17 but some excellent tyres have come up a great price but they are 225/45/17. I'm fairly sure they will be fine to be fitted but wanted other people's thoughts to be safe as the speed and load are slightly lower at 97Y vs 94W.

    New head for telephone extension

It is just a normal extension that allows another phone to be plugged in, doesn't convert or anything but can't seem to find that connector on its own

    New head for telephone extension

The head on my mother-in-laws telephone extension cable has broken. See photo. I cant replace the cable but also can't seem to find a replacement head. Or is it a case of cutting the line, getting a new extension and joining them? Any ideas?

Garden ground lights off existing wall lights

Genuinely thank you. There are a few too many people on here that forget this is a DIY site and people are after useful advice.

Garden ground lights off existing wall lights

I've done a lot of internal wiring but very little external and only used SWA once so whether I did it right or wrong I'm always happy to listen to advice from anyone who has the time to share it.

Garden ground lights off existing wall lights

Presumably it has to be SWA doesn't it? The landscapers will be responsible for laying it so not sure what extra protection they will add. I see your point on the DP switch.

Garden ground lights off existing wall lights

Yes, that would pretty much be the intention so the whole garden lights up together when you flick one switch. My plan was to extend the circuit and put an external RCD (Or double pole switch) in before the cable goes into the ground for the reasons you mentioned. So essentially I could have...

Garden ground lights off existing wall lights

As per the title, if I want to add some garden ground lighting, like bollard lights, am I able to run off the existing wall lights? I have four small LED wall lights and was thinking I could extend that to add four LED bollard lights.

    Lights for sleeper wall

Having my garden done next week and are after some lights to be recessed into a railway sleep wall. The only choices I can seem to find are the small decking lights that run on a transformer (£30-40 for 10) or driveover lights (£30ish each) which are probably a lot stronger than needed. The...
