    Is 9' x 11' a double bedroom?

I hear what your saying Nige but there's only 2 beds as it stands, one of which (the master) will be 21'4" x 11'6" incorporating an en-suite. If I did the same i'd have two beds both with en-suites and an upstairs bathroom which will then be left redundant?

    Is 9' x 11' a double bedroom?

Cheers for the response - so may I ask; would you personally class 9'1" x 11'1" as a double?

    Is 9' x 11' a double bedroom?

I'm having a dormer built and wanted to "justify" the cost (recoup the cost if we ever sell) by splitting our second bedroom into two rooms. The room after the dormer build will be 21'4" x 11'1" but due to a window the stud will have to go to one side or the other of it. Leaving the bedrooms...

10mm or not 10mm that is the question...

Does anyone know how much pipes expand/contract? Will I get away with running the 10mm pipe in some oval electrical conduit, I was going to run two pipes in 25mm oval conduit, will that be enough room to allow for expansion? The conduit is 25mm wide and 11mm deep.....

10mm or not 10mm that is the question...

Do you think covering the chase with 0.95mm plasterboard and then skimming over would prevent any heat related cracking? Or is that a bob idea?

10mm or not 10mm that is the question...

Just want to say; big thanks to the above two posts - found them helpful cheers. :D I'm going with 22mm flow and return and dropping down in 10mm. Am I best to go with a manifold or a reducing tee? If the latter; do 22mm down to 10mm exist? As I can't find them online, should I go for a 22mm...

10mm or not 10mm that is the question...

Errr yeh Scatmanjohn - think you're looking for a different forum (amateur psychology for begginers!) either that or you've been sampling too much of the local "produce" I wasn't trying to suggest that I had already decided the answer - Merely that the comment quoted below didn't...

10mm or not 10mm that is the question...

Thanks for the responses people - so the worst that can happen if I run 15mm and drop down in 10mm will be that the rads don't heat up effectively?

10mm or not 10mm that is the question...

45yearsagasman - judging by your responses you were never in! There will be 6 radiators each averaging 1500w, the total flow and return of the system will be circa 50m - distance between radiators approx 3m. There are 4 radiators upstairs all running 15mm, again 3m apart. Can anyone see...

10mm or not 10mm that is the question...

45yearsagasman - I'm struggling to see why a 15mm ring with 10mm tee'd off to each rad individually would be an issue? I know that there would be a (approx) 2500w limit to the radiators used but other than that... Is there anyone else that can contribute with a more "constructive" comment?... :|

10mm or not 10mm that is the question...

I have bought a new house (old house - new to me!) and am going to replace the central heating piping on the ground floor. I want to chase my new pipe work into the walls but the plaster is only 20mm thick. Will I be ok to have a 15mm ring upstairs under the floor boards and then tee off using...

Thanks for the responses both, I think I'm going to go with the Asphalt option, fingers crossed it does the trick.

Damp through concrete, what can I seal it with??

Ok, whilst waiting for a reply (I've had a while!!) I've been researching the issue and come to the conclusion that I either 1. use an epoxy resin 2. Asphalt 3. use some rubber type matting on the floor to stop damp coming through, like Oldroyd xs. 4. Rip the whole floor out and relay...

Unsupported Purlin - can someone please advise? -NEW PICS-

Here are pics of my dilema - Is this safe? Can I leave as is, or do I need to replace with a steel? The purlins are in two parts (joined in the middle) and are 9" x 3"
