Installing a programmer/timer for an unvented hot water cylinder with dual immersion heaters

Hence my question about how the flat was heated. It would not be the first time that storage heaters were in use but not on E7.

Installing a programmer/timer for an unvented hot water cylinder with dual immersion heaters

Spot on. Heat the entire tank on economy 7, and only top up on day rate if you need to. If you are not on E7, and you don't have gas, how are you heating the flat?

Evohome may do it. Try asking the question on this forum https://www.automatedhome.co.uk/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?13-Heating-Control

CM927: heating coming on even when temperature above what set - or when off

If there are no lights on the relay it suggests that the thermostat is not calling for heat, and something else is causing the boiler to be on. When you find it on when it is not supposed to be, how do you turn it off?

CM927: heating coming on even when temperature above what set - or when off

When the heating is on when you are not expecting it, what is the light on the relay box doing? I always found the optimisation of the cm927 very good. Not sure why you would want to disable it.

How to change immersion heater wiring

Looks like a dual element immersion, which has a long element for economy 7, and a shorter one to boost. Need to check both are functioning

Is there a market for old kitchens?

When we had our kitchen redone about 10 years ago, the guy who owned the company and did the work asked if he could have our old kitchen doors and drawer fronts, which I suspect were installed in the 1980s, for his mother.

    Automatic Bypass Valve

Thanks. Boiler is in the loft, and all pipework there is lagged, but I've got a section of unlagged flow/return in the airing cupboard (where the pump and abv are) which means it is getting very warm. I want some warmth in there, but it seems excessive so I'll add some insulation. I've...

    Automatic Bypass Valve

Well yes, I understand that. But that does not really answer my question.

    Automatic Bypass Valve

Does it matter if all the pipework to and from an automatic bypass valve is fully lagged? Or to put it another way, is the purpose of the abv to ensure circulation, or to circulate and lose some heat?

    Setting digital programmer

Don't know this programmer, but I would set the on/off times for the unwanted programs to be the same for each program.

    FP720 timer - battery backup?

I have had a Danfoss FP720 two channel timer fitted recently, and it loses it's time (but not schedule) whenever it loses power, and then displays U15. Internet search suggests it does have battery backup, but nothing about a user replaceable battery. Faulty unit, or am I missing something?

    Leaking Salamader ESP 75CPV

Our 6 year old Salamander ESP 75CPV died last week as well. Replaced today with unvented cylinder (the vented one it replaced was installed in 1988, so certainly did not owe us any favours). Our pump did the whole house, so loving the silence when running a hot tap or shower. Go with your...

Overwinter - MPDE on the surface

I'm looking at using black MPDE run the length of the garden to connect to an irrigation system. It will be teed into the feed for an existing outside tape, with an associated isolation valve and double check valve. It is not possible to bury the pipe for most of its length, so intend to drain...

    Raspberry pi

Take a look at Home Assistant. You also might like to look at Arduino - IMHO more suited in some of the scenarios you may be looking at. And nothing to stop you mixing the two - arduino for sensors/device control, and HA running on a PI for combining everything.
