Just spilt a rather large blob of radiator sludge on a light coloured carpet, any tips for removing it? I heard power flux works, but i seriously doubt it?
valves closed?
Pin stuck on the thermostatic rad valve? (take the head off and wiggle the little pin up and down with a pair of pliers, not too hard tho!)
Do you mean how do you drain down the individual radiator and replace it with a towel rail, without having to drain down the whole heating system?
you cant!
1 cheak that where it bends over the tank it isnt submerged in the water in the tank
2 where it runs horizontaly try to prop it up so it runs more vertically up towards the tank so the air can escape out of the vent, may be that its drooping so air cant escape and causing air lock
3-4 days for a straight forward boiler swap!? hahah, more like half a day to a day if your flushing it all, about £500-600 labour where i work (an thats a decent wage!)
1 thing to cheak that can cause the taps to run dry after a while is that the open vent (the pipe that comes off cylinder at top and they "hooks" over the cold water tank in the loft) isnt submerged in the water in the tank.
Could have been too long and water in tank risen due to faulty ball...
Well £2500 is to much for a straight boiler swap round where i live, your looking more in the region of £1500sh
Just get more quotes an compare prices, find best one with someone you trust to do a good job!
Although if your in london that might be a fair price, never worked down there though!
when you bled the rads, boiler pressure would have dropped, just add some more from the filler loop (presuming its a sealed system) put it back up to 1.5bar cold.
You could just put the adhesive onto the tiles (a blob in each corner and the middle) instead of putting it on the walls like normal, Just put bigger/smaller blobs on depending on the wall, you might find this an easier option
get the walls skimmed over so there level before you start would be the easist option, or just add more addhisive to the tiles, depends how uneven they are though (that might not be posible) :P
