    Cast Iron soil stack

Cheers seco, just been looking at these on HSS website, says not to use on live pipes which I'm not to worried about. But how much room do you need to operate these things, I am presuming it works on a ratchet mechanism, but as I said in the previous thread there isn't alot of room, so bit...

    Measuring damp

Thanks for replies. Which method is this? Update: Just tested the floor with a damp tester, nothing fancy, just a cheapy but the needle went off the scale. I am thinking this is going to be too wet for a liquid dpm. Whats the next step? Floor up, new dpm, new slab and screed?

    Expansion vessels

Santon 10 Litre water heaters, On the expansion vessels can you connect them onto the water supply directly via a flexi or should there be some sort of valve on top? The reason I ask is that I got asked to fit one the other day and the guy said he's got an expansion vessel hanging around...

Santon Aquaheat Unvented Water Heaters 10 Litres

OK kevplumb I know Im being a numpty here, but I need this spelling out for me. So a correct sized expansion vessel will incorporate some of the expanded water. Will it then be removed once a tap is open. Also, if water is coming through the PRV then there is a problem.

    Radiator not working (photos supplied)

Ok thanks, I am getting somwhere here. Didn't realise a system boiler contained the pump as well, thats good to know. So as 45yearsagasman says, if I connect to the flow and return pipes of an existing radiator then this should allow for correct circulation. Thanks again to all who posted.

    Radiator not working (photos supplied)

In response to 45yearsagasman OK I thought a system boiler was one which only served the radiators and heated the water in the cylinder? What sort of boiler is this then as it is not doing DHW so it can't be a combi. In the airing cupboard is a cylinder with Grundfos Pump (Is this a...

    Water heaters and expansion vessel

Silly question coming up. How does the expansion vessel work when connected to the cold water supply on a unvented water heater. Surely it would need to be on the hot supply pipework to allow for the rise in temperature and so the expansion of the water? Or am I just looking at it the...

    Free standing bath taps

This is a bit of an open question in that I am thinking of getting some free standing bath taps and wanted to know how they are installed. I can't seem to find any product information on them anywhere. Should I leave tails coming out of the floor vertically or do I need to connect them under...

    Summer Radiator Kits

Hello, can't get my head round this, putting a dual fuel heating kit into a towel radiator and my pipe work is coming out of the floor. Does this mean I need one angled radiator valve and one straight radiator valve?
