Free standing bath taps

This is a bit of an open question in that I am thinking of getting some free standing bath taps and wanted to know how they are installed. I can't seem to find any product information on them anywhere.

Should I leave tails coming out of the floor vertically or do I need to connect them under the floor?

If they aren't connected under the floor then how do they connect?

Any help would be gratefully received.

Hi

The ones I installed connection was under the floor. These were reclaimed ones dating back many years.
