    Edge Isulation

Should edge insulation be bonded to the concrete block around the perimeter of the floor, or bonded to the DPM? (Just re-read that and it's not to clear what I am asking, In front of or behind the DPM is what I should of asked.) Thanks again..

    Drain query

The thought did go through my mind, new plan of thought now  Think I will do away with the surface water pipe run that is sticking out of the ground and run new pipes around the perimeter of the extension, outside the foundations, for the surface water, it should make the new guttering...

    Drain query

I need to cross over an existing foul water pipe with a surface water pipe as per the pic. I think if I expose the pipes further back the surface water pipe may eventually clear the top of the foul pipe. Was thinking of using 2 30 degree bends to create an off-set. Will this still be...

    Depth for incoming mains cable?

    Pins in footings..

I've marked the sides of the trenches, thought I was being to fussy, glad I did it now., waiting for BCO to ok the footings before driving in the pins. Using 20mm rebar spaced at a meter apart, going to have to barrow the concrete in unfortunately, approx 4cu. Depth of concrete is 200mm...

    Pins in footings..

When setting the pins in a strip footing trench as a guide for the concrete level, is it normal to run them down the centre line of the footing, or zig-zag them either side of the centre line? Any advantageous/disadvantages? Thank you.

    Gulley trap or Grease trap?

Can anybody help, On my extension drawings I have abbreviations GT and RE on the drains, Re will be a rodding eye, but I am unsure if GT is for a gulley trap or a grease trap, both will have sink outlets entering them. Thanks Edit...Just been googling and I think it will be gulley...

    Layout accuracy..

Cheers for the reply, thought I was being to fussy, fitter/turner to trade so I need to throw that hat off when I get home at night. :P Main construction is 150mm timber frame clad in 100mm concrete blocks with "W" trusses for the roof, OSB sarking and concrete tiles.

    Layout accuracy..

Just had a go at laying out the footings etc on profile boards for an extension on my house, wondering how accurate I need to be? Darkness has stopped play for now, but I'm down to approx 8mm on the diagonals over a 14000mm span. Extension is 14000mmx5800mm. Footings are to be 700mm wide...
