    Upside down tiles

As i was ripping out my complete bathroom, I used the old shower curtain pole, works perfect as its the adjustable twist lock one.

    Bathroom Floor Tiling

I've already tiled the bathroom walls 600x400 and have picked out some floor tiles the same size. My initial thought was to line the grout gaps up with the tile grout gaps on the wall you look at straight ahead when entering the bathroom. After reading the wall and floor tiling sticky, it says...

    choosing a shower tray

I don't suppose it does really, but you've got a pro in, he's recommended a tray and going to fit it, and you're querying that, so why not query the fitting of the classi seal strip too like I have

    choosing a shower tray

Will be fitting my shower and tray soon and just looked at that classi seal strip, my tray is a low profile one and looks like the classi strip will cover almost all the rear of the tray, so would the sealant then stick firmly to the classi seal and onto wall to make the tray secure? Just me...

Packing out a thin border to be flush with a thicker tile

Nice looking job.... I'll be doing mine in the next few weeks, just sorting out all the bits and pieces, got the tiles, border etc but pricing up the adhesive I can get nowhere near your £12 for a 20kg bag. Cheapest I've been quoted is £25 for Keraflex or £27.48 for Keraquick from a local...

Tiling onto bare plasterboard external corners

I've read before about the B&Q mapei adhesive so will leave that well alone and get 20kg Keraquick white from a tile store. Thanks for info on trowel

Tiling onto bare plasterboard external corners

Ok thanks again. Final questions for now... What sized notched trowel should I go for with 400 x 300 Ceramic, sorry don't know the weight as I'm expecting delivery on Friday. I will be using mapei rapidset.

Tiling onto bare plasterboard external corners

Thanks Richard, My question about external corners on plasterboard was because previously I've removed the plasterboard and there was some glavanised? strip covering the 2 edges of the corner floor to ceiling, admittedly this was covered with skim, I just wondered if anything was needed to tie...

Tiling onto bare plasterboard external corners

    Weight of tiles

I know from reading lots of your previous posts you'd go for the rapid set adhesive, but I can see me either wasting too much adhesive by not going quick enough if I mix too much, or constantly having to mix/clean everything if I just make enough to work with. Thats why the slower setting...

    Weight of tiles

Thanks both. Richard C, yes I've done nothing but read post after post for the last few weeks, I've got Mapei waterproofing kit to tank the shower area, I will primer g all plaster/plasterboard. I will use a cement based powdered flexible adhesive, I'm thinking Keraflex as opposed to...

    Weight of tiles

Hi , Anyone got a rough idea of what a 1 sq/m of 400 x 300 8mm thick ceramic tile weighs as I've been reading the weight limits on various backings. Around the shower area it will be on new plasterboard, rest of the bathroom in plaster on brick. I cant get any weight of the tiles online so...

    Tile trim

I'm in the process of chosing tiles for my bathroom, looking likely going to go for a light brown with a border then beige on top of that. Question is when applying the coloured plastic tile edging trim, which colour would you use for ceiling to floor strips, window sill to ceiling and...

Bath waste pipe going up hill...is it ok?

That bath layout looks exactly like mine, I've got an acceptable fall on my so a couple of things I'd check... Have you got a slimline trap so you can get more height at plug end? Can the waste pipe be rerouted so it doesn't initially start low, I mean routing down center of bath away from the...

    Leaking tub/shower 2nd floor

Is there any way to easily get underneath bath and a) reinforce floor if it's flexing too much b) secure battons to wall/build frame to support bath where it is dropping. Only then will the sealant stay in place

    Securing shower tray

As an add on question to this...... Securing a shower enclosure to stud walls will probably end up in me missing securing to studs themselves, I'm assuming trying to secure just through tile and plasterboard is a no no? I'm thinking once I strip off the tiles that are already on the walls, and...

    Securing shower tray

Thanks for that, I just wanted to be sure as I can that I'll be stopping movement I have read conflicting reports but most seemed to think that if tanking, then plasterboard would be more than adequate, I'll do some more searching as I'm still sourcing all the parts. Cheers

    Securing shower tray

Hi, I've done loads of searches about securing a stone shower tray, I'm fine using whatever the MI say underneath cement mix/sealant etc, but once in position I'm assuming there could still be slight movement, I also read sealing to walls using 785. My concern is that the corner the shower is to...
