We had this problem and it wasnt the rads it was the pipework under the floor just below rads.The pipework was against the flooring joists so just lift the floor boards and put some lagging between the pipes and the joists and those noises are banished forever .

Hi I replaced the timer which was a Siemens rwb9 with a centaurplus c27 and the fault still occurs plus there is no rattle from the boiler at all.We do have a frost thermostat to the boiler as its in the garage could this be the problem as i read in earlier post as it can overide everyting ????.
