Maximum electrical drain on a single power socket

What is the maximum number of electrical devices that I can connect to a single mains socket ? I have several computers that I'd like to hook up using a couple of 4 gangs, but only one socket in the room. I assume this would be dangerous? But my friend said that some kettles would use much...

    Loosening Seized Radiator Bleed Nipples

Hi I've got a radiator with bleed nipples seized so badly that the square shape to them has been largely chaffed off by attempts to loosen them. Any tips that might make it easier to loosen them, other than replacing the enitre radiator, lol! Ted

Unusual Noise coming from boiler after bleeding radiators

Fixed it! Turned out to be two things : 1) when I initially re-filled the system (when it was cold) I put too much in taking it up to 1.0 bar. So when the boiler was on and the presuure expanded, it tipped it over the 1.0 bar limit and turned off (as you say, a protection against humans!)...

Unusual Noise coming from boiler after bleeding radiators

I found the reset button. It was in a hole at the bottom of the boiler. I pressed that, and the heating came back on. Brilliant, I thought. But after about 10 minutes, it turned itself off again! I noticed that the pressure valve mentioned earlier krept up from 900 to just over 1000 at...

Unusual Noise coming from boiler after bleeding radiators

Thanks very much for you help. Do you happen to have a hyperlink to a picture of the 'plastic rusty coloured thingy' so that I know what I'm looking for? And when you say 'the front surface of the boiler', I assume you mean I need to remove the front face to gain access to it? (The...

Apologies if this is posted elsewhere - I had a search and read http://wiki.diynot.com/plumbing but could not find the answer. My heating system has been working fine. All the radiators hot. The other day I took one radiator off to decorate a room. Then put it back, opened up the valves, and...

Working out angles for skirting boards on bay windows

Hi Apologies if this answered elsewhere. I've found a couple relating to skirting boards, but not specifically to my problem. I have fitted skirting throughout my dining room, which is a traditional 1930's semi-detached dining room with a bay window. My problem relates to the two...

Can anyone recommend a good reliable gas plumber in the Derby area? Our boiler has packed up and isn't coming on - I know nothing about central heating so need to call out someone urgently - our house is freezing, almost literally! Thanks Ted

Wiring Old Light Switches to New Ones

Hey dudes It's worked! I fed the two red wires (from Com at the top and Common on the bottom of the old switch) including the additional strap wire to the COM hole at the top of each button block. Then I fed the L1 wires to '1WAY' on the new switch and L2 wires to '2WAY' on the new switch...
