the fitting didnt come with a block, i've got two but just using the one. it has the three wires L/N/E i've put the two live wires into one block. two neutrals into another. im left with the two brown wires in the lampholder thats in the pic. all i need do now is connect one of those...

yes ive looked at the diagram but just cant figure out why where these two wires are to be joined with. ive got the upstairs working ok from the switch but the feed to the next one i've messed up. any ideas? i cant take a pic at the min but i'll try and draw a diagram of what i've done.

oh ok thanks, im way off the length i always leave them is too much as i think you need to bend the wires back of them selves but i end up breaking the core inside the terminals. just hope i dont cut them too short like last time. thanks

i've just added three new sockets onto the ring, but im always having a problem gettings the cables back into the box so as to screw the faceplate back on. what length do i need the wires and is it best to cut the the pvc jacket just below the grommit? ta
