wiring question

i've just added three new sockets onto the ring, but im always having a problem gettings the cables back into the box so as to screw the faceplate back on.

what length do i need the wires and is it best to cut the the pvc jacket just below the grommit?

You should be cutting the cores so that there is just enough length to connect to the socket, with the socket "hinged" through 90 degrees at its base. So its at right angles, with its bottom touching the wall.

This way all the cores will bend back in nicely.

oh ok thanks, im way off the length i always leave them is too much as i think you need to bend the wires back of them selves but i end up breaking the core inside the terminals.

just hope i dont cut them too short like last time.
