do not listen to your non corgi reg mate for starters.......... thats seriously bad advise he has given you........ your gas pressure is regulated at the gas meter then the gas valve... If your boiler is sending too much gas through then the gas valve would need the correct burner...

sound like the pump my friend , does the boiler kettle up then go to lockout ?? first place i'd start if the thermister has been cheanged

Never advise the immersor myself but always get asked if keeping a constant heat is more efficient than heating from cold... could never really answer but always advise the am/pm cycles !!

no need to panic... ps. have a look and see where its leaking MAY NOT require a washer, a nip up with a pair of grips often cure thee leaks !

basically when its running hot the metals expand therefore no leaks, when it coo.ls it has more chance of leaking.. lynx electronics are very old so normally perished washers etc cause this, most are cureable with a nip up of the compression joints and at worse replacing seals !

job done !!! pump appeared ok,valve body nice and fee.... removed valve head and it didnt fire up boiler or power over when c/h only called for... can only assume partially opening and small enough resistance to only heat upstairs... strange as the pump was deffo my first choice here...

guys heres a bit I forgot to add although may not make much of a difference.. the system has a bypass on it (I know not required on a Y plan ) I was thinking that if the valve failed on c/h then if the bypass is open then this would allow heat to go to the rads but then that had me...

Quick one guys !! just been to my old neighbours and heating upstairs works when she puts c/h and h/w demand on.... no downstairs heat at all... suprima 30 system with mid position valve ... checked the pump and rocked it form 1-3 a few times,,, checked the valve and thought the head...

bite the bullet and get a new pcb and A CORGI REGISTERED engineer to fit !! downside is they are about £170 !!

mysons are decent pumps in my opinion and are you disagreeing that the cleanlieness of the system doesnt matter ?? agree grundfoss are best but myson / ideals have always had a good life span when I put them in a clean system... not exacty a pish pump and probably one of the most common used...
