Garden Wall Project - help required

Excellent, thanks. When using the plate, should we rake in the type 1 in increments of 100mm deep at a time and compact with the plate? Or can the whole lot up to the 400mm depth be raked in and compacted in one go with the plate?

Garden Wall Project - help required

Ok, gotcha, it was just good for my waistline as (you're right) it is tough going with a tamper but was prepared to put in the effort. Tamper was a meaty 8x8 inch cast iron bad boy so was probably doing just about as good a job manually as possible. Using a machine then, is there any issue...

Why is this the case?? So e.g. filling at depths of 30mm at a time with a hand tamper is no good? If so, why?

Garden Wall Project - help required

Thank you, will fill with type 1. Was going to give it a go with a good old manual tamper rather than machine. Thoughts?

Garden Wall Project - help required

Anyone able to help with this - question boils down to whether we:- 1. Leave the infilled soil in the green area and lay the type 1 on top of this OR 2. Excavate the green area back out and infill the green and yellow areas with Type 1.

So if it doesn't come with the green dye, but is labelled P5, is this still moisture resistant?

Garden Wall Project - help required

Finally time for us to get back out in the gold ol' garden and finish last year's job, hopefully well in advance of the summer. We need to lay flags/slabs in our "middle" section, behind the retaining wall we've built. I've attached a diagram below that hopefully shows this. Key points:-...

Thank you for all of the above - and what a school boy error on the cistern screws! Will give it a go with a combo of the multitool and the 1st fix saw. Once again thanks for all your help.

Would this multitool work? http://www.screwfix.com/p/energer-enb518htl-200w-multi-cutter-220-240v/61122 And are these the correct type of screws to fix the new floorboards...

Thanks - yeah we were looking at the P5 sow ill go for that. What type of glue should be used on the tongues? Thanks, will ensure we've got at least 20mm and angle the screws + repilot/countersink before screwing on. Ok, I'm keen to try the last option unless there is a power tool that...

    Lifting flooring

Ok, have taken the skirtings off and we actually have quite a bit to play with. IF we were able to cut along the red line as shown in the pic below, we'd be able to get the edges of each floorboard in the room to sit on at least 20mm of the joist underneath. Is there a power tool that will...
