I’ve recently plumbed in a new rad upstairs and damaged a few floorboards getting to the pipes.
I need to replace them but i’ve measured and they’re 18mm thick 85mm wide, i can’t seem to find anything smaller than 119mm.
any help would be greatly appreciated
Have a look below to see what i’m...
♂️♂️ Thats annoying, i should’ve researched it as i’ve fitted a 32mm pipe
back to the drawing board, i’ve just found a waste trap that includes a 600mm standpipe on screwfix so i’m going to get that
https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-washing-machine-trap-white-40mm/18640
I’ve measured the internal diameter of that standpipe so i know its 28mm i’m just unsure whether i’d need a solvent weld pipe or a pushfit as the diameters are different
i couldnt really put the hole lower through the wall as there wouldnt be much of a drop outside.
thats the standpipe that came with the trap, i was just after a longer one
Hi all,
I’m guessing this lockdown is causing a massive spurt of DIY right now
Well I’ve just plumbed in the washing machine and added a compression trap to the waste pipe, my problem is I need an longer down pipe into the trap, the pipe needs to be 28mm internal.
would you suggest a solvent...
Yeah theres a channel all around the frame but its only notched out the wood, its not like how you'd find a channel on upvc where the seal pushes into it.
Excuse me for being naive, but what difference does the height of the gap make apart from how much i'd need to cut, I understand this to be...
This might sound like a ridiculous question, but whats the difference between the different seals?
I went to B&Q this afternoon and theres foam, rubber, brush and then theres P, E, I shapes.
How is this DIY job such a minefield
the 2 floors are at different levels by about 18mm so i can’t install it level.
and because of this it means the cut on the joint isn’t a 45 degree cut
Hi all,
I’m really struggling with this, how would you go about scribing this piece of skirting to the floor and cutting the angle to line up with the joining skirting.
as you can see in the photos i’ve got quite a gap...struggling to avoid this
What it says in the title...
i’ve tried the thickest quadrant I can find and its still too small to cover the gap.
here i’ve got a think bit of architrave but theres quite big gaps where it meets the wall.
