Fire rated circular dry lining box for mains fire alarms?

Well not a good start on the MT box router. None of the suppliers they pointed to hold them in stock. Online I can only find the MDCRB1 (version without intumescent material) and it appears to be £4.50 :/ If thats indicative of true cost, they'll end up costing almost as much as the alarms...

Fire rated circular dry lining box for mains fire alarms?

Hopefully not, I've emailed them for further details. Ideally don't want to use the Kidde Pattresses as the alarms are already bigger then what they're replacing. But I guess that would be the simplest solution :/

Fire rated circular dry lining box for mains fire alarms?

[/url] They're already bigger then the old ones, I'm worried with the surface mount pattress they'll look massive. Although I guess its the most painless route.

Fire rated circular dry lining box for mains fire alarms?

I've got several to install (big house) and it would be much easier using a hole saw then trying to cut holes to accommodate the square boxes (I don't have access from above anymore). Also its a slightly smaller hole, when using the round boxes.

Fire rated circular dry lining box for mains fire alarms?

Just to update this thread for those facing a similar issue: I haven't found a perfect solution :( The Appleby circular dry lining boxes coupled with the intumescent gasket is the closest I've got. The main issue is the screw centres on the Appleby boxes are about 8mm too close to allow me...

Fire rated circular dry lining box for mains fire alarms?

Thanks for the replies. I looked at the steel boxes but couldn't find any circular ones. Given I have no access from above, want to cut the smallest hole possible and have a hole saw would ideally like to use the circular type. I think the Gasket looks like the best bet at this stage...

Fire rated circular dry lining box for mains fire alarms?

The mains powered, interlinked fire alarms in my house have started to fail so I picked up some Kidde KF1/2/3's to replace them. I couldnt find ones to match the originals and given they were interlinked, I thought it best to replace them all anyway. The problem is the connector for the Kidde...

Advice on building 4m garden Wall (planning granted)

While I've been waiting for the architect to get back to me about the engineer, I've been looking around at these composite cement panel walls. Unfortunately they all seem to be in Aus or NA. http://www.modularwalls.com.au/estatewall In the UK/EU we only seem to use the panels for...

Advice on building 4m garden Wall (planning granted)

Is there any alternative anyone can recommend to achieving the same sort of look? I've been looking for some sort of modular fence/wall system that can be mounted ontop of the decked portion (I can build whatever supports needed underneath the decking as it won't be seen). The problem is I...

Advice on building 4m garden Wall (planning granted)

Structural engineer? I do have the drawings from the planning permission, done by the same architect who did the stuff for internal works and got me the structural engineer calcs. I guess I could ask him to get the same engineer in.

Advice on building 4m garden Wall (planning granted)

I've attached some pictures of the wall in question, which is currently 2.2m high. I've got a approx 8.5m x 8.5m garden which due to the slope back to front is almost 6ft below my houses ground floor level. Since I decked the entire garden I had wanted to raise it all to my ground floor level...

Grout pen or re-grout, black grout which has turned white?

After my last post I spent a few hours applying the cement away to all the affected areas. Unfortunately the results were not as good. While large parts responded in the same way as the test patches, in other areas the white patches remained. Having repeated the procedure in those areas, it...

Wood stains leaking onto White wall (Self clean Paint)

Since it looks like we might have a couple dry days later this week I'm going to try to rectify this problem by staining/sealing the wood. A friend has a Cuprinol power pad and some left over stain, would that work? Or would I be best sticking with the Sadolin Advanced coat?
