    If the problem is compacted subsoil the rotovating may not go deep enough,as you need to get the compacted layer broken up. If you are intending a runoff from the patio onto the garden, make sure you dig in lots of gravel! Or you may get a pond instead

    The garden bay just be very compacted. Get a fork in it and do a bit or airating. Brush sharp sand into the holes left by the fork. In the spring roughly rake the surface and sprinkle lawn seed on the bare patches. If you want to lay turf you will need to rotovate the ground first.

    I've fitted a pan connector with a 1 1/4" waste boss on it. When I leave the waste connection uncapped and flush the loo it works! :D I'm having trouble finding a 'mini air admit valve' do you know who does them?
