Quick update. He came as promised which is good and he spent 4 hrs rectifying the issues, much better now, only noticed a slightly raised cut which was very odd but overall happy enough now.

Yep thought as much, bad job really weird because he's got good reviews and the one down the road looks good that he did. He did start another job before this was done however so thinking he's rushed at the end.

Replaced Fluorescent Tube now lights upstairs don't work

I don't intend to tbh! although I may have a peek at the wiring in the fitting to see if there is any obvious issues. I just remembered he also told me he used longer screws to fix the fitting to the ceiling so maybe he's damaged the circuit wiring for upstairs, also there is no place for the...

Replaced Fluorescent Tube now lights upstairs don't work

Posting on behalf of my father in law. Firstly I don't intend to mess about with it and I didn't fit it either just to be clear. Yes they should get a sparky out but I am thinking it's relatively straightforward! OK here is the story. The Fluorescent Tube stopped working and was replaced...

    Rear Garden overhaul

Any ideas on this? My Parents want away with the grass as they want a low maintenance alternative. Excuse the mess at the mo! It measures roughly 7m wide by 5m at the back towards the shed.

    Fascias, soffits and guttering renewal/replace?

No chance to do it off ladders i take it? or hire a cherry picker?? I did think scaffolding would cost 90% of the outlay.

    Steel Garage Roof Leaking

Thanks for that eta, I'll give that a go as I only need to seal the joins etc as I am 99.9% that is where the issue lies.

    Steel Garage Roof Leaking

What can I use to seal it? I don't wish to tear it off and start a fresh as I am pretty sure it's coming in through the joins and screw hole areas. It is in very good condition apart from this. I have some Cromapol knocking about, will this do or is there something better out there? It...

Window Lintel - this ain't right surely?

Thoughts on this guys please? It's my Mum & Dads place and they want some French doors in place of this window but it seems to lack the 150mm span each side to my untrained eye or have I missed something?? I am guessing I'll have to put a new one in before I fit the doors. Thoughts please?

Replace Sliding doors with French doors but opening too Big

Thanks crank39 for that, good advice there especially regards the cill! I was just going the fill the ends somehow but would look not great I suppose. Doors do open inwards but do have side panels so it would clear the reveals easily

Replace Sliding doors with French doors but opening too Big

Evening all. Thought I'd ask on here and see where we end up! Current sliding door frame measures 2150mm x 2040 and the French door frame is 2070mm x 2010mm how can I make them fit? I've read about UPVC extenders but the gap is rather large width wise - height not too bad. Ideas please?

    Garden Ideas please.

South facing. I did think about having a border with sleepers down the sides and was maybe thinking artificial grass for low maintenance hoover once in a while!
