    Trevi Boost - manual jig?

GOt a trevi boost which only gives an adequate shower temperature with the temeprature control handle set to absolute maximum. Didn't used to be like this. Apparently there is a wax seal inside which I can take out to control the temp manually, at the expense of the mixer no longer being...

70 quid to change immersion heat element?

Thanks ollski. I suppose its a common worry, but I am concerned that: 1) the cause of the problem is not the boiler, and has not been investigated 2) the boiler could go in the old position, but moving it up and making a new hole for the flue gives the guy much more scope to go "oh...

70 quid to change immersion heat element?

That was one of the quotes. In the end I paid £45 to someone else, having supplied the new element myself. Was this a rip off? Trying to work out if the guy is sound or not. The old one was a b*tch to get out - but it didn't take too long. He did the wiring too for the new one. Bloke...

Apollo - shuts off and crud on pump

Don't think he drained the system when he put the new pump / valve in - just closed the flow at some point before the pump / valve area. No inhibitor. Have found that the limescale / crud is coming from a small leak just above the pump - this is where he had closed the system to fit it...

Apollo - shuts off and crud on pump

Guys - another Thorn Apollo problem thread! I had some probs a few months ago (boiler banging and auto-off) - a plumber came round and fitted a new pump and 3way valve. Spent about 6 hours with me and charged 200 quid inc parts so I was happy. All was happy for about 3 months. Over xmas...

Low mixer shower pressure - but bath taps high pressure...!

Hmm Got a new hose and it hasn't made any difference. I discovered that if I lower the height of the shower head, like down to my feet if I'm in the shower, the water gets much hotter. This (I think) means that the hot water is coming from the tank next door at the same level and the...

Low mixer shower pressure - but bath taps high pressure...!

Chris Thanks for your response, appreciated. Come to think of it, the hose going from the mixer to the shower is a bit mank looking. I will try replacing it. Tempted just to get a power shower fitted - this thing is doing my head in.

Low mixer shower pressure - but bath taps high pressure...!

I have a mixer shower, surface mounted above a bath in a house I just got. With the flow tap to max, and the temp tap to max, all we get is an ok temperature but really cak pressure. The strange thing is, the bath taps have great hot and cold pressure. I'm not sure if there is a...
