    worcester combi 24cdi

Following Brit Gas visit on Wednesday when they apparently fitted new diaphragm /stat /pump/seals, I notice that the pressure clock has gone off the scale and is above 4. The hot water is working though. Any idea what has happened ? (I originally called them in cos I was worried it had gone...

    worcester combi 24cdi

As I was conncerned, called out BG on their homecare. Came this afternoon and replaced the diaphragm, pump , seals and stat whatever that is. Pressure still shows at 2 but he says thats acceptable. Firing is marginally better though. He said I needed a magma-booster as there was a lot of gunge...

    worcester combi 24cdi

About 9 years old Worcester Bosch combi 24cdi rsf . HW light was flashing fast. Reset red button and works again. However i noticed that the pressure clock is now at about 2 when it has always between 1 and 1.25. Also, regarding Hot Water demand, the Boiler will only fire up when the...

Worcester combi 24cdi - no hot water

No, there is no 'lock out' or flashing lights . As described it only happens about 15/30 mins after someone has had shower or run hot water for 10 mins or so. The DHW demand light comes on when we turn on tap or shower but the flame light to the right stays off

Worcester combi 24cdi - no hot water

The DHW indicator light always comes on. But the secondary light (the flame detection light ) stays off, so the boiler doesnt come on. Funny it only happens in the way I described yesterday. To temporarily get round it, I upped the temperature demand on the 'digistat' to start the Central...

Worcester combi 24cdi - no hot water

After weeks of trying to identify when this intermitent fault occurs, I've finally narrowed it down. When someone takes say a 10/15 minute shower, all is OK. If a 2nd person then takes a shower within 2 or 3 minutes then everyting is normally fine. HOWEVER, if you wait 15/20 minutes after the...

Worcester 24cdi combi hot water to shower

Believe Nickso, that flow rate was pretty high because anyone turning the kitchen taps on for the first time got soaked. I did and just thought it a naturally high pressure. Many thanks to you & Ollie for making things much clearer. I'll keep you posted on the annoying intermittent thing.

Worcester 24cdi combi hot water to shower

Thanks Nickso for explaining it. Why the flow rate was so much higher at 23 is anyone's guess then. That must have impacted quite a lot on performance. Any ideas on the other point about The DHW control knob. Always at max. Is that just maximising the rate of speed to the taps cos why...

Worcester 24cdi combi hot water to shower

Nickso. I know it sounds like that but I really am not that sort of chap.Very much an 'amateur' landlord, trying do do whats best. I was very reluctant to call out anyone.I've had a BG contract for 10 years & can only recollect calling them out twice - once a digistat problem and secondly a...

Worcester 24cdi combi hot water to shower

Thanks Ollie . Out of interest, I know the performance of the 24cdi has a DHW flow rate of 9.5 litres per minute. The Engineer said the pressure from the mains was very strong and that he reduced the 'Water flow' from 23 L per min to about 12/13L per minute. What does this actually mean &...

Worcester 24cdi combi hot water to shower

Harsh comments but I see your point about tenant situations where conflicting info is given!! I was just venting some frustation! Such infrequent occurrences must be a nightmare for an engineer. 3 separate people at different times have told me that they didnt see flashing. (I have all the...

Worcester 24cdi combi hot water to shower

As I'm no expert I got in BritGas under our service agreement. Oh Dear! Two lads turned up who, even without looking, dimissed the idea of a valve or diaphragm fault. Said the fault would occur more often if it was this. Instead they couldn't fathom it out. Asked if my tenants knew how to...

Worcester 24cdi combi hot water to shower

Thanks , I will look. It always seems to happen after a lengthy shower which is why i was thinking it might be overheating. Only happens about once a week but , as I said, seems ok again after about 10/20 minutes.

    Recognise these tiles?

That tile looks a pretty old one. Firstly I'd say i think its discontinued & unfortunately i dont think you will ever get it again. Oh & by the way, Pilkington tiles went bust 3 weeks ago. In administration & presently producing 'zilch'

    Most Flexible Floor Grout ??

When there is too much movement or too much expanding/contraction of temperature this happens. A really good extra flex grout is Granfix's 'Ultimate flex' grout which is powdered & equivalent to a 2 part flex but with the benefit of just having to add water.

Worcester 24cdi combi hot water to shower

Having an intermittent problem with hot water to shower . Occasionally, after someone has had their shower perfectly OK, the next person who has a shower is unable to get hot water, as the boiler fails to ignite. Taps do not work either. Only happens very occasionally but I think it more often...
