    Loft conversion fire door requirements

This has all been very helpful. Thank you all very much. And half of the wall on the bathroom side has 12mm Hardiebacker so hopefully that's going to help with fire retarding too.

Anyone able to identify this roofing tile?

It turned out to be the original Rivius. Sandtoft said it wasn't suitable for vertical hanging but their Humber in antique was and would be the same colour. Only problem was we couldn't get any anywhere with less than two months lead time. So we went for Redland plain tile in slate grey.

    Loft conversion fire door requirements

Loft conversion nearly finished. New stairs match existing and will have a mains wire smoke detector. There are three new rooms in the loft accessible via a small landing at the top of the new stairs. A study (could be used as a small bedroom), a double bedroom and a bathroom. We thought we...

Anyone able to identify this roofing tile?

I think you are right. Here is a link to the old Rivius and the front of the tile looks identical. http://www.henshawsroofandbuild.com/gallery-clay-rivius/ Can't see any sizes to double check though. I am waiting for Wienerberger to reply to my email/. Thanks.

Anyone able to identify this roofing tile?

You are right, the edges are different. But I don't think they are the same as the Rivius. Mine are 320 x 405 mm and are around 20mm thick. Hopefully the latest photos show you the edge well enough to see the pattern. it is only on the edges, unlike the Rivius. Thanks again.

Anyone able to identify this roofing tile?

It appears the first Cassius I found was the NEW Cassius and mine looks identical to the original Cassius. The original is slightly smaller at 405 x 330 mm, will check measurements tonight and that should confirm it. Original Cassius on the left and mine on the right.

Anyone able to identify this roofing tile?

Cassius on the left, mine on the right. It is very, very close and the measurements of 418 x 335 on the Cassius could be right (will check later).

Anyone able to identify this roofing tile?

Anyone able to identify this roofing tile?

Having a dormer installed and want to check spec of existing roof tiles to see if they can be hung on the side of dormer (vertically, i.e. 90 degree pitch) but the tile has no makers name on it. If I can find out the maker I can check with them.

Is my, inaccessible, loft insulated or not?

I should have explained it better. The only place I could access the space is at the very apex of the roof using a camera on a fixed 6ft pole from the accessible loft. The video is shot looking directly down like an aerial view so the plane that looks like it is roughly floated is actually the...

Is my, inaccessible, loft insulated or not?

The house is a new build of around 4 years old. There is a bedroom above the garage. This bedroom typically remains 5-10 degrees colder than the rest of the house. The loft above that bedroom is inaccessible. I have suspected that that part of the loft is not insulated but had no way of getting...

    Hotpoint FFA52 Erratic Temperatures

Thanks, that makes sense. Will go for a 24hr switch off then when there is less in the freezer.

    Hotpoint FFA52 Erratic Temperatures

Thanks for the reply. I had removed all the freezer internal covers and removed all the ice (some with a warm hair dryer) so there is no ice left. Am I missing some ice somewhere? Why would leaving it off for 24hrs defrost it any more than it already is? Thanks again.

    Hotpoint FFA52 Erratic Temperatures

Our 5.5 year old Hotpoint Fridgefreezer has started to play up. We noticed it was a lot quieter than normal so checked the temperature and both fridge and freezer were too warm. We tried all sorts of things, switching off, cleaning the grid on the back, removing stuff from the fridge, checking...
