Toasty radiators but no hot water!

The pipe going from the valve to the cylinder was roasting this morning when I got up but the water was still lukewarm. I changed the override switch to manual and still the water failed to heat. As the pipe going from the valve to the cylinder is roasting, i guess it's not a fault with the...

Toasty radiators but no hot water!

Cheers for that. I was going to isolate the whole heating system to be on the safe side. I don't have a multimeter but its been suggested to use one a few times now so I may as well invest in one

Toasty radiators but no hot water!

Awesome news :D £13.49 for a new Drayton Synchronous Motor from Screwfix so a lot cheaper and seems rather easy to swap. I'll check it out tomorrow if it gets hot/cold when it's running and then take it from there. Cheers for the help ianmcd

Toasty radiators but no hot water!

Also if I change the lever from 'AUTO' to 'MAN OPEN' will this solve the problem in the short term and are there any risks associated with doing this?

Toasty radiators but no hot water!

Would you suggest any of these in particular? http://www.screwfix.com/search.do;jsessionid=mp01QTCd5yt73GvLvLGDpNJxqY3xQjPPLWd2qqQ5tg0MwLRQd9yf!-1389567939?fh_search=2+port+valve

Toasty radiators but no hot water!

Ah right I think I get it now. The valves will only let the water travel one way. Is that right? In between the two valves is a T Junction so the one that comes from the T junction to the valve and then onto the cylinder will be the one for the hot water? I guess to replace it I would have to...

Toasty radiators but no hot water!

How will I know which one is the two port valve? Will it be the one closest to the length of pipe that enters the cylinder at the side about 1' from the top?

Toasty radiators but no hot water!

Hi folks. For the past few days I've had no hot water (lukewarm) but the radiators seem to be working fine. It's a condensing boiler, a BG 330+ (Glow Worm) to be exact. Any advice on where to start would be great. Cheers folks

    HDD1/SSD1 password

But the OP never said it says HDD password. He said it had put a lock on the machine which could easily have been set via a BIOS boot time password!

Hot water not as hot when central heating on at same time

No issues with the hot water before the CH was fixed no.

    HDD1/SSD1 password

Hi OP. Could this not be a boot time password set via the BIOS rather than a Hard Drive password?

Hot water not as hot when central heating on at same time

The stat on the cylinder reads 140 and no motorised valves as far as I am aware

Hot water not as hot when central heating on at same time

When the water is heated on its own it gets too hot to touch. When it's heated alongside the CH I can quite happily hold my hand under it no worries. Her in doors likes it to be scorching!

Hot water not as hot when central heating on at same time

Hi. Finally managed to get the Central heating working and not causing an error on the boiler. Now I have a different issue. I have a condensing boiler with the big water cylinder and when the hot water is heated on it's own it gets scorching hot. When it's heated alongside the central...

    Header tank containing hot water!

I only noticed it tonight and the hot water is currently heating so couldn't say for sure. The cold water seems to work fine but now winter is here we put the heating on and the boiler stopped and showed the error F25, Possible Pump Failure/Air in System

    Header tank containing hot water!

Hi all. The smaller of the two tanks in the loft has hot water in it and I was always under the impression it should have cold in it. The bigger tank seems to be fine and only contains cold water. Also should the pipe that goes into the small cylinder be submerged inside the water? I have...

Advice on replacement Central Heating Controls please

[/url] Cheers for the advice. Is there a real difference between these two to warrant the £30 price difference? We don't really use the heating until the depths of winter now we have cavity wall insulation. It's roasting all the time
