    Wireless router question

    Have you tried to get a free one from your BB provider? ADSL if you get your BB via a telephone line (BT, SKY, Talk Talk etc) DSL if your with Virgin. My best advice would be to look at the reviews. You can usually get a good idea about how reliable the item will be from them.

    New hard drive

    I would buy a new hard drive and use that as your main drive. Take this as an opportunity to re-install your OS and all your programs. It'll give you a nice fresh feel to your system and hopefully keep out all the rubbish that will have accumulated over time.

    File format extension for Bootable image

    If the CD you are trying to copy is already bootable then use an app called imgburn (the best on the market imo) to create an exact image of the CD and then burn that image to a new CD. It will create a like-for-like copy of the CD and it will remain bootable once burned.
