Hi, I have a small porch canopy to tile (6ft x 2ft). I'm using marley clay tiles which have a max stated gauge of 100mm, am I ok to increase this slightly to 120mm? My reasoning is that I dont want to add too much weight to the canopy and the porch is in a sheltered position so isn't exposed...

Thanks for the info. I think the paint would take as they aren't clay (I think concrete). I'm going to try painting a small area as there's nothing lost if the whole lot has to come down, it's just a shame, I don't like removing original features. Would masonry paint work (Farrow and Ball)?

Is there a reason why you can't paint them? I don't think pressure washing would help
