If you drive a car/van/bike, please read - Sarah Kennedy was talking about this proposed car tax scheme on Radio 2. Apparently there is only one month left to register your objection to the 'Pay As You Go' road tax. The petition is on the 10 Downing St website but they didn't tell anybody...

    Help building shelves

I see you said turntables, are they 1200/1210s? If so you are going to need some very strong shelves to hold those up. They weigh a ton. I used a bookshlef from habitat turned on its side. It holds decks and 1200 records no problem, even when scratching.

    Grohtherm 1000 shower

My g/f has just had a new shower installed. When you turn it on and adjust the temperature, not a great deal happens. It goes from scalding to 3rd degree burns, and when you flick the switch on the right hand side and turn it round to 50 the boiler shuts down and cold water comes out. Could the...

Hi, I not sure what they are called, but I want to make the doors to my airing cupboard handleless, so you open them by pushing inwards and the door pops back open. Does anyone know where I can get these or what they are called? Thanks.

What is it with this country!

All walls are freshly plastered. Should be piece of piddle. Tiles are half meter squared. Looks like I will have hit up a couple of local tile shops to see if they can recommend someone.

What is it with this country!

I would tile it myself, if I could, the tiles are limestone and ruddy expensive. I'm good with most things but this is out of my league. And the last two guys came from that Checkatrade site where everyone is supposed to be vetted and monitored.

What is it with this country!

I have been trying to get a tiler to tile my bathroom for over 2 months now. Phoned 12 tilers up. 10 didnt even turn up. The 2 that did, both measured up, told me they would phone and post the estimate through, but have not even bothered to do that. No wonder the buliding trades in...
