3 pole fused units dont exist. either a 3 pole switch, or a fused connection unit. there is no combination available off the shelf. Would be handy if there were :)

Reverse polarity on the line side of the FCU I reckon. The radio will work ok.

Thanks for the comments lads. I thought that in the past I had found a reg mentioning the misuse of BS951 clamps. I have scoured the regs and OSG and found nothing. Will use the ones I quoted and also the one stated by Coljack.

While at a job this week I found some swa cables with pipe clamps and flying leads used instead of earth tags. I know that the clamps cause damage to the conductors but does anybody know if there is a specific reg that covers this? I have already quoted 134.1.1 and 134.1.2 in my report.

No. But look at the cables entering the unsuitable enclosure at the top and bottom of the picture where the sheath has been stripped back so the insulation is exposed.They are live conductors. I would say that 526.7 will apply also.

Code 2. Very untidy with multiple conductors in connectors and external cpc connections. No signs of heat damage and all instrument tests ok, therefore not causing an immediate risk.It is now in the hands of the client to have it rectified.
