    Very Noisy Vokera Excell 80

House Insurance????? I think we've gone a little bit 'off subject' now. As I said, I'm more than happy with my solution.

    Very Noisy Vokera Excell 80

But you are assuming the boiler was set up right in the first place. I take heart from the article below (page 4 of 16, towards the bottom, entitled 'Circulator Pumps'). http://www.eci.ox.ac.uk/lowercf/pdfdownloads/EUsave_heating_app5.pdf What do you reckon?

    Very Noisy Vokera Excell 80

'boiler operational parameters'???? - It's a pump! It pumps hot water round a series of pipes. It is still doing that now. Everything gets warm and cold when it should, the only difference is it does it without groaning! I'm more than happy with my 'solution'.

    Soil Stack Connection

Update. Our clay pipe, must have something missing. The drain connectors in Wickes would not work. I ended up using a toilet pan extension piece (the ones with the rubber seal), cutting it short (about 2") and then using an normal soil pipe in line joint. Looks neat now! :)

    Very Noisy Vokera Excell 80

Ian, We have the same boiler that recently had the same problem. Only difference ours only did it intermittantly! And guess what? It never did it whenever anyone came round. I actually solved it by turning the speed down on the pump. It was on setting 3, it is now on setting 2. Not sure...

    Soil Stack Connection

We are about to replace our plastic soil stack with a new one as all the previous connections to it are redundant. So all it will be used for is a vent. My question is what do I use for connecting the soil stack to the ceramic underground pipe? The previous owner had just piled what looks...

    Pop-up basin waste

Thanks for the replies fella's. Just to clarify the plug isn't one of those with the screw underneath that adjusts the height of the plug. I know the type you mean as we have one of those on the bath. It also isn't the type that has the rod that comes up through the head of the mixer tap...

    Pop-up basin waste

This is a trivial problem , but annoying none the less. We have a 6 month old pop-up basin waste in our bathroom. It's the one that you push to close and push to open again. It seems to be 'sagging' slightly which means that it doesn't drain as quickly as it used to. I can't seem to get into...

    Another noisy combi boiler

Ok, cheers fella's. I only let a little air out of the expansion vessel, as I had a feeling something wasn't right. We tend to run the heating at the lower end of the pressure gauge anyway so we will probably be alright. I'll have another look for some vents. But it wouldn't hurt to have the...

    Another noisy combi boiler

Ahh, I've seen that and I did let a bit of air out, but I didn't want to carry on as it seemed like there was a lot. So I dug out the installation manual it said this valve was for charging the 'expansion vessel' to 1 bar with a 'foot pump or equivavlent'. So I assumed that this was meant to...

    Another noisy combi boiler

Thanks Chris. I had a look last night, and what I thought was the vent on the bolier wasn't (or at least nothing happened when I undid the nut). Where is the vent likely to be? The boiler is a Vokera Excell 80SP if you know it at all.

    Another noisy combi boiler

I've recently drained our central heating system to move a radiator. It's a Vokera combi boiler. I moved the radiator and re-filled the system as normal. Now when the heating starts or the hot water comes on, the boiler makes a short banging/gurgling noise and then runs as normal. The temp...

    House foundations & New Paving.

Thanks fella's. The house is about 25years old (maybe a little older). I've had a couple of contractors look at quoting. Neither had seen anything like it before. One suggested cutting into the raft the other said go over the top. I must admit from what I have read on here and on other...

    House foundations & New Paving.

We are currently looking at having a new driveway installed. Not sure at this point what type, ideally patterned concrete. My question relates more to the house. Our foundations are the concrete raft type. The problem is the foundations extend beyond the walls of the house by approx. 1yd...

Replace single piece of Laminate flooring

Yes the skirting has been fitted since. It is 2 pieces that have some water damage after a leak. Luckily it is in the door area, so I'm thinking of breaking them to get them out and then trying to knock the 2 new pieces in length ways after removing the door plate. If that doesn't look like...

Replace single piece of Laminate flooring

Has anybody successfully replaced a single piece of laminate flooring in the middle of a room? We've got one that is damaged. It is the clicked type.

    wall hung toilet.

Has anyone fitted a wall hung toilet into fitted furniture before? I'm about to tackle just this and was wondering if anyone had any tips or knew of an online resource?

    New Rad with swarf inside

Tried air, tried flushing with hose - both proved fruitless, so did indeed take the radiator back. Managed to find a cheaper one that looks better and doesn't have things rattling around! :)

    New Rad with swarf inside

We've just bought a new radiator, it rattles as though it has some swarf or something inside, has anyone got any tips for getting out. I thought about a blast with an airline, would this work?
