    Boiler question

You can use it any way you like, just remember that the frost thermostat won't protect the hot and cold water pipes in the flat. If your not in on the weekends you could turn it down just to keep a little heat in the place.

Pilot light goes out after switching on heating

Likely to be a part blocked pilot injector but you need a gas safe engineer to repair. A service will sort it out. As for changing boiler, ask people you know and get recommendations. Usually the best way. A knowledgable chap will give you all the advice you need.

Do you have a green light at the top of the receiver. You might need to pair them again, check the instructions for details. Was it working before new batteries?

Range Tribune HE Continually Firing.. HELP!

It's likely to be a stuck switch on a zone valve keeping the boiler going, turn off at power switch for heating and that will stop it for now. Switch it on when you need heating. Could be wired wrongly as we'll if its a new house??

The euro combi wasn't that bad!! Used to like fixing them. The pressure gauge will either be blocked in the bundy tube or gone, not a biggie to replace. Will assume there's pressure in it or it would have tripped on the overheat stat. It'll be ok till Thursday. If the guy coming is any good a...

    Gas Regs

No he said one disconnected. I'm not even sure he is telling us the right type of fire. I have a suspicion they are Lfe fires which of course is a different matter however we don't know this for sure. You can't say they don't require ventillation as if they are Dfe then the 7kw you mention has...

    Gas Regs

DFe fires need ventillation. One fire would usually need 100cm2 vent (or bigger if mi's ask for it) most of my landlords have their gas fires removed these days and replaced with elec ones, maybe safer for tenants. The vent tat you install has to be cut through wall at high level so as ianmcd...

Got central heating but no hot water

Check that the pin on top of the diverted valve is hitting the switch properly and that the switch is making. If the pin isn't moving far enough and you have had the diaphragm replaced there's a filter on the cold inlet that might be blocked. How's the hot water flow at taps?
