The outlet from the basin is 32 mm and go's into a 40mm waste pipe via a universal compreesion fitting so no woories there. I think it looks like it's going to be more cost effective to run another waste pipe from the shower trap and leave the basin as it is. Thanks for the suggestion.

Looking for a tiler in Lancashire to fit aprox 7 Sqm of 600x400 travertine into a new build shower cubicle.

I've noted that travertine requires the finished face sealing and likewise with the edges. Is there mileage in sealing the back surface as well with any sealant left over from the primary sealing of the finished surface?

Thx Tictic. We're sorted with what's needed now. Remaining question seems to be tiling over shower upstands. There seems to be an opinion that tiling should be laid onto and not over for primary reason that if tray needs to be removed then no tiles damaged

Just had another tiler recommending that he'd use a Mapei tanking kit to prepare and seal existing plasterboard. Viable or not?

Thanks to all posters so far on this. We've taken on board the grouting issue and now insisting on this. Any suggestions on recommended water resistant/proof tile backe boards together with what the advantages/disadvantages are over 6mm V 12mm?

Builders Merchant recommends 12mm back board (pecidur) so will go with that.
