Sealing Travertine

I've noted that travertine requires the finished face sealing and likewise with the edges. Is there mileage in sealing the back surface as well with any sealant left over from the primary sealing of the finished surface?

Not really and it might affect adhesion.
Edges don't really need sealing.
Usually seal once after fixing before grouting and then afterwards (amount of coats depends on sealer)
