    Support beams in loft cracked

Thanks for input. What's a drying fissure? Not sure if it's the other side as well. I can go up again for more photos if needed?

    Support beams in loft cracked

Hi, Is this a problem that needs sorting? I have lived in my house 8 years but I think these splits may be getting worse. The planks seem to be cracked length ways. One is worse than the other but it's worrying me now. If these give way does the roof collapse inwards? Any reassuring tones...

Cleaning block pavers and concrete slabs.

I did the front bricks with cementine and the plant in the middle was lower than the surrounding patio. Needless to say the run off went to the centre and soaked the dirt around the plant. I just added more and more water in the hope the acid in the earth will dilute else im in trouble with the...

Cleaning block pavers and concrete slabs.

Interesting point about the run off into grass. Has anyone got some effective ideas to limit this? I need to do a pathway edged by my lawn. Last thing I probably need is to get a bit over enthusiastic sweeping in acid based products but i dont want to go the other extreme and do it brick by...

Cleaning block pavers and concrete slabs.

I used a jet wash once on our patio. I found it be to too destructive e.g. taking out the sand and forcing the bricks apart and not cleaning them up too brilliantly. I recently bought some cementone from b&q and swept it in the patio, came up a treat, careful though as it's acidic and stinks.

    Dying Plant advice

Hi, My plant out front is dying. It lived there quite happily for a few years growing and has not been moved so not sure why it's so sickly, thinning out and brown leaves. Any advice would be appreciated before I give up and replace it? Matthew

Thanks, had a look at all of them and opted for the honeysuckle. I hope it grows, it looks quite flimsy at the moment and it's hot today!

    Patio fix

Hi, Advice welcomed for this. How do i fix the edging of this decking? Do i just lift the bricks out, add more sand, smooth over and replace? I presume its sand under there. I dont think the sleepers have moved at all as they are concreted in but then that makes me wonder why they have sunk...

    climber advice

Thanks. I like the idea but the colour looks too close to the purple syringa in the garden. Something yellow or orange would be nice I think.

    climber advice

Hi, I have put up a green cheap treless. Any recommendations for something that can grow up it quick, produce nice flowers and be planted in the same pot as something else and not need deep roots? Also, am i too late for something nice this year? Thanks Matt
