    just a quick question-a 3kw immersion heater at 240 volts will use 12.5 amps - so will a 13amp fuse be sufficient in the spur socket? i read that a 15amp fuse or 16 amp mcb should be used so i'm not so sure now!!???

    TRVs?

    i thought so. i don't knw about boilers but i know that a bypass circuit and automatic bypass valve can be fitted to allow the water to circulate if all trv's are shut down or for if you have a pump overrun. i know a lot of boilers nowadays have an integral bypass built in though.

    if all TRV's are turned off on all rads in a house, will this automatically turn off the central heating? or will the central heating only turn off when the programmer /room stat tells it to do so?

    ok thanks for your help! i know on a cylinder stat there are 3 wires used. and they connect up on the stat to C, 1 & 2. if using a brand new wire to connect up the stat and not the original wire is there any colour code that should be used, ie brown for C terminal??!

    just a brief question about central heating wires: i know a motorized valve uses a 5-core wire. and an immersion heater uses a 2.5mm2 heat resistant flex. but what wires and used for cylinder stats, room stats, pumps, etc? just normal 3 core? any specific size or features?

    Heating off but one hot radiator?!

    a while ago i know the bathroom rad in some cases were installed on the primary flow and return to the hot water cylinder, so in summer when no heating was required in the whole house, but hot water obviously was, then there was still hot water in the bathroom.
