    Flueless gas fires.

it amazes me that they are legal! If it was a open flued gas fire which most are and it was spilling only a small percentage of its fumes (CO2 or CO) it is ID. yet a flueless spills 100% of it's fumes into the room and it is classed as safe (proving there is a 100cm2 vent) I can't see...

    Flueless gas fires.

i went to service one the other day. I have come accross 3 or 4 and fit a couple before. The thing i want to find out is there a standard limit of CO that is allowed to pass the converter. I was getting readings of 3 - 4ppm CO. I would consider that as very low but what is the limit. There...

Can't get my house alarm to work.

I have recently had to move a passive sensor in my lounge as i was decorating and when i took the cover off so that i could undo the screws that was fixing it to the wall the alarm went off. I can see that the tamper switch on the sensor has made it go off but my problem i have now is that it...

Flushing out the central heating system

not essential but better practice if flushed. Manufactures like to see you make an effort to clean a system. That may just be some sentinel sludge remover running round for a few weeks and flushed out.

Magnaclean filter + it's effect on a diverter valve

they have to be made of plastic due to being a magnet inside and also cheaper to make and they are smoother when made of plastic.

Have the regs just changed again.

I have been informed the other day by a Gasforce engerneer that they have been informed by Corgi that U16 gas meters and upto 32mm pipework is now classed as domestic. I know this is only a rumour and i would like to hear it from the horses mouth. Just wondering if anyone else has heard simular.

    power flush micro bore

power flushing is the best way to unblock microbore pipework. Just makesure they connect to pipework 15mm or bigger as if they connect where a rad is it will only be 10mm/8mm and won't get full flow throught to flush entire system correctly. If it is a manifold system then connect before the...

    Directly pumped UF heating

I havn't attually seen it yet but as far as im aware it lets full flow from the radiator circuit and then once the hot water gets throught the UF circuit and back out it, it goes throught this thermostatic valve which closes and shuts off the flow. It then lets the water cool down and just keeps...

    Directly pumped UF heating

a pal of mine is on with installing it in his house. He has got a Hepworth valve that controls it. It just pipes straight off the main heating circuit with a direct flow then on the return it has this valve. Once the water has cooled down in the floor it opens and lets it pass through letting...

    Directly pumped UF heating

i think there are some boilers on the market that let you do this. I 'm almost certain that a Viessmann Vitodens 300 can. It will control the underfloor heating on a seperate circuit from heating direct from the boiler. The underfloor has to be piped seperate from the radiator circuit tho. I...

only For gas engineers to answer!

    Ravenheat Condensing Combi's.......Any Good?

It was the same pump head. It was exactly the same. The rpm and pump head (m). Maybe i don't know where to go fot a spare for a Biasi but Parts center and o few other independant merchants were quoting simular prices. Your right about the dirt in the system doing this to the pump but I never fit...

    Ravenheat Condensing Combi's.......Any Good?

i have fit quite a few ravenheat CSi 85 AT and BT. I have a 1 or 2 probs which Ravenheat came out sorted. Like others said they are not the best boiler on the market. also the spares are quite expensive in comparison to others. You tend to find the cheaper the boiler the more expensive the...
