    Thanks, when I fix the arcatrive could I put a bit more glue to bring it out that bit more and caulk around the back if you know what I mean? Regards nath

    Hi I have made the mistake of buying thicker skirting then the arcatrive. It's only 3-4 mm and don't fancy the pedestal option, thinking of shamfering the end but witch do I plane back the face or the back of the skirting? Thanks nath

    Skirting is wet upstairs?

    I have removed them was all soft and shot were it was wet. I have chipped the lime render off and rendered it back with sand cement with waterproofer. New skirting boards think that should do it.

    Don't think there is one, the wall with the radiator on isn't hardly damp I have just removed the skirting and the lime render seems damp. But the worst wall was the internal wall don't get it.

    Skim bead over wooden dawl bead

    Hi I am skimming my bedroom and want nice square edges but can I simply tack the metal skim bead over the old wooden dawl bead, or will it get a hairline crack down it? Thanks nath

    That's what I am trying to figer out but think it isn't sagging much at all and feels sturdy so think the other way suggested is the way to go.

    The thin crack runs paralle with a joist then off at a right angle, so probly at the edge of a board. How do you sugest I find the joists to screw with out putting holes all round the edges, would it be best to punch down from the attic? And how often would you screw?

    Internal lintel

    Hi I went and got a lintel and started to remove the falling bricks and there was a wooden lintel there lol just got a 7 inch gap to pack out to the new frame now. What would be best to pack it out with. Am thinking lightweight brickets and mortor and dot and dab down the sides.
