    I would only oil the toe, not the blade. So if oil cannot penetrate the wood, neither can water: which means task accomplished. Up in Scotland, our bats see alot of damp conditions.

    im planning on linseed oiling it 3 times per year and probably only once a year to waterproof the toe. I have bought some boat varnish and will apply a light coating to waterproof the thing.

    Hi, sorry for the late reply. My house set-up is as follows: 8 radiators, 1 shower powered off boiler, kitchen and bathroom. I hope this helps. I need to buy a boiler next urgently. Also please tell me the questions I need to ask the gas engineer to sus if he's experienced or not?

    I totally agree with the intergas. I have one in my own house. There simplistic and good boilers. However Im looking to fit a boiler in my property which I rent out, hence an ideal boiler.

    I have had a quote for a boiler - ideal 30kw - the quote is coming in at £1150. That is supplied and fitted by a gas engineer. The boiler will power 8 radiators. Can someone please comment on the noise levels, efficiency and general reliability of this boiler? Also is there an alternative better...

    You guys are amazing. The response rate on this forum is really good. That suggestion is good but the problem is that I rent this flat out. There is little point in making it look so nice. In actual fact I would like to uni panel the area, but I do not have the cash to do this just now...

    bathroom wall damaged

    as above, the wall in my bathroom has become damaged due to water constantly hitting the plasterboard. Th damage isn't too bad, what would you you recommend I do to sort the damage out.
