Is something missing on my Megaflo?

Hi All, I think something's missing from my cylinder!! Please see pic. I don't appear to have a thermostat, like I've seen in other pics on this forum. Also, I only have one cable running to the Megaflo. Others I've seen on here have two. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing please? TIA

Vaillant VSMART: how to turn off weather compensation?

OP appears to have found a way to trick it into believing it's located elsewhere. I have no idea as I don't have vSMART. I'm considering it, just trying to find out more about how it all operates. My concern is that the 2 port motorised valves (in S plan configuration) will be driven open by...

Vaillant VSMART: how to turn off weather compensation?

Yes you have a combi, so you don't have an additional hot water storage cylinder. The vsmart can also work with a hot water cylinder if you have one.

    Vaillant vSMART install

Anyone advise? Am I right is saying that using the Vaillant wiring modules (VR65 VR66) ultimately give a less safe set up to the conventional S Plan configuration?

My apologies, you have a combi boiler?

Vaillant VSMART: how to turn off weather compensation?

Yes the VRC700 setup does seem to tick all our boxes, but as you say it's a lot more expensive (if including the VR900 module). Plus there doesn't seem to be a great deal of info in the UK for it. Do you have a Vailliant hot water cylinder with the Vailliant sensor plugged in to your VR66?

    Vaillant vSMART install

Are you familiar with the installation of vsmart? My understanding is that the 2port motorised valves are powered by the VR66 wiring module and the switch contacts in the valve (grey and ornage wires) are not used. Is that correct? If so it seems less safe to me. What if a valve fails to open...

Vaillant VSMART: how to turn off weather compensation?

Im really tempted. Do you have the unistor cylinder in your setup?

    Vaillant vSMART install

Yes agreed. It's only two wires to connect to the ebus terminals but you need to be gas safe registered to do that, correct?

    Intermittent rcd tripping

How many MCBs are on the RCD? Has your electrician tested the RCD? They should be able to test at what current its tripping at. They should also be able to test which circuits are excessively leaky.

    Vaillant vSMART install

Hi All, Can vSMART be installed by anyone, or does it need a gas safe engineer? I've asked a gas engineer and he said you don't need to be gas safe to install it as you don't need to interfere with any gas combustion process within the boiler. What do you guys say?

Vaillant VSMART: how to turn off weather compensation?

Are you able to set your location to you actual home but tweak the heating curve so that you get the desired effect? Or have you already tried that?

    Light Switch wire advice

It shouldn't matter which way round you do it but the way I said above is the convention. Just make sure the two that are currently joined together stay together in the new switch. And the one that's on its own stays on its own in the other terminal. Job done.

    Light Switch wire advice

I take it that's a dimmer switch? The lights in the room are suitable for dimming, yes?

    Light Switch wire advice

Impossible to know anything for sure without actually being there, but based on the labels on the new switch, I'm pretty sure it will work exactly as intended.

Vaillant VSMART: how to turn off weather compensation?

I believe vSmart works with IFTTT and with that, you can configure your installation to switch off/on your heating as you leave/approach your home. And yes, the Grahams website is the only one I've found that specifically mentions the VR66 being included in the pack.

    Light Switch wire advice

I would say the two wires going into M on the old switch will go to L on the new switch. The single wire going to L1 on the old will go to L1 on the new.

Vsmart struggling to get up to the desired tempretire

I suppose if you've got the vSmart system installed, there isn't a way to have it read an actual external temp sensor?

Vaillant VSMART: how to turn off weather compensation?

Does anyone know if you buy the vSmart pack (system boiler), does it come with the VR66 wiring module? I can't find out what makes it a "pack" if it doesn't actually come with it.

Vaillant VSMART: how to turn off weather compensation?

If you set the location to a place other than your home, surely the location sensing (using IFTTT) to set triggers as you leave/approach home wont work?
