following on from a few other questions in the tiling section, i have now decided to just board around the inside of the existing fire inset where my wood stove will be. just wondered if this stuff will do the job if i just screw it onto the brick work and then paint with high temp paint...

Thanks for the replies. The stove will sit on top of the tiles and will hopefully have tiles around it inside the old fireplace. There is only a 60mm gap either side of the stove though so maybe better not to tile around it and just smarten up the existing bricks and mortar.

i will be laying ceramic tiles around my wood stove and hearth after crimbo and need to know what adhesive to use. can someone point me in the right direction please, many thanks in advance

change of plan..... gonna just tile inside the fireplace area to match the hearth, which will be natural slate or similar

Thanks for the reply. Surely the existing render on the fire place ( white wall part) would be ok as before we had a gas fire fitted 10 year ago there was an original coal fire which never caused any issues to it. I was also looking at this stuff to line the opening instead of render...
