    Wooden Pond Construction

I am building a raised pond along side new decking area . It will be parially raised and around 2.5 x 1.5 metres in size x 1metre deep . Just wondering what is the best construction method . My main concern is preventing the thing from rotting . So far , Ive considered using railway sleepers...

Could you reccomend the type of fittings I`d need ? Bearing in mind the hole will be passing through the lower tier liner , the retaining wall , and the top level liner :)

    Pond Liner Question

Thanks for that , Suzie . Very nice pond too . Ours will be a lot different , though - it`ll be incorporated into our decking area and a lot more formal than yours . I`ll make sure to leave space , so I can add plants once things get established . Thanks again :)

    Pond Liner Question

Thanks Suzie - I`m thinking of just lillies rather than lots of plants for now . If the pipe is running up the side of the lower tier (which is rectangular) whats the best way to hide it as it comes over the top . Would you put it in the corner and tuck it under the folds of the liner for...

    Pond Liner Question

Thanks for your reply`s folks . It isnt a good idea to run the pipes through the liner then ? In that case will it have to go over the side ? I was hoping to avoid this , as were going for quite a formal design with no rocks planned ect . Any other ideas ?

    Pond Liner Question

Hi Folks , I am about to start work on constructing a two tier pond in my garden . When I fit my pump and filter , I`m thinking I`ll have to run a hose from one level to the other . Is it common practice to cut holes in the liner , so as to run the pipe under the surface...

    L.E.D. Driver Failure ?

just an update on this thread . I replaced the driver , and it failed again after a week . I`ve since replaced it again AND added a third to the circuit , so I now have 2 lights running off each driver . Everything has now worked fine for the last 3 months , so I`m guessing 4 lights must...

    L.E.D. Driver Failure ?

Thanks chaps ! Is there a way of guarding against it happening again ? Like I said earlier , I`ll try and get the shop to give me a replacement , but for future reference , is there a better quality driver you could reccommend ? Also , would it help to split the four lights into two pairs...

    Leaking Compression Joint

Yea , I know I could re-make the joint - but I really dont want to cut the pipe down further as its getting a bit battered where the new joint would be , and if it fails , I`ll be into replacing the tail . I`m really after a solution that doesnt involve taking the joint apart - surely there...

    Leaking Compression Joint

dont trhink any of the components are badly damaged - the olive hasnt split . I think I must have had it slightly out of square and its not sealed properly . As its only a tiny leak , I dont want to strip it down again , as the acess is poor , and I`m damaging the nuts and pipe . Its a...

    Positioning Range Cooker / Splashback

Hi , Ive just had my new range cooker wired in , and am about to build my kitchen units around it . The guide recommends a gap of 10mm between the cooker and units to allow removal . Just thinking this sounds a bit much , could I get away with a bit less ? Also when fitting the...
