    Lilac/Lavender Soap?

Thanks for the weird (and wonderful) replies to my weird and not so wonderful question! I haven't yet tried Boots, but the main problem is that many soaps are wrapped up in non-transparent wrappers, so I can't tell what colour they are! A trip to Boots is on the cards then. Thanks.

    Lilac/Lavender Soap?

Hi All, Don't know if this classes as a 'DIY' inquiry, but I am currently decorating the bathroom and cannot find a soap bar that is lilac/lavender in colour. Yes, they are available in specialists shops, but I am after ones that are readily available in supermarkets. If this post is...

    Door Restrictor

Hi All. Am looking for something that could be fitted to a door that would stop it from opening more than 90 degrees. I have seen something which very much fits the bill but it is called a 'Mortice' Limiting Stay. Does this mean that a part of it needs to be fitted INSIDE the door and a...

    Circular saw advice

Thanks big-all. Deluks, my policy is 'better safe than sorry', so I usually try to make sure that I understand everything clearly BEFORE carrying out any work as oppose to going ahead with it and then asking why everything went wrong, as is so common a case when it comes to DIY. For...

    Circular saw advice

Thanks big-all. It's nearly 1 am and I'm tired and sleepy, so at the moment I haven't been able to fully understand your post; will try again tomorrow and see what I make of it. Is the 12mm mdf the actual board or the sacraficial one?

    Circular saw advice

'and have a laugh at your efforts' You mean have a laugh at the guy with three fingers!!!! This 'sacraficial bit of board' you mention, is this one piece of board that is to be cut through along with the 'real' board and which has the lines drawn on it or is it two pieces of board on...

Thanks very much big-all! 'any more questions' Well, now that you've asked; what should I.....just joking. You can tell that I'm a seasoned pro at DIY, can't you?!

    Circular saw advice

Hi again. Got four further questions. As stated above, the saw's maximum cut is 64mm and the blade required is 185mm. 1- Can I use a 180mm blade with this saw? 2- If yes, then won't it be able to cut 64mm with the blade? 3- What do I place the wood/board on to cut it (I've got one...

    Circular saw advice

Hi All. Well in the end I decided to go for the most sensible option for my situation, and that was to get a cheap saw temporarily to get the current work done quickly and then look into a better/more advanced one in future when I have more work to do and am more experienced. No doubt I'll be...

    Circular saw advice

Hi Thermo. No, I don't think he lied to me; on one occasion when I asked him to do a job for me, he left me his tool to do it myself as he didn't have time, which I carried out and then returned it to him. The other guy owns his own factory and makes kitchens for aliving. The saw he did it...

    Circular saw advice

Hi Deluks. Thanks for the advice. I thought that was the most sensible option to start with, that's why I originally took the wood to a kitchen manufacturer I knew, however, as mentioned already the cuts were done in a hurry and I was left with mismatched sizes. I also asked the person...

    Circular saw advice

Haha big-all; Yes I know, I know. I meant for the straight parts of the U shape as stated in my third post in this thread (last paragraph). Ok Scrit. Deluks, oops, I completely forgot what I originally needed the saw for! Haha. The legs, the legs; sorry! I urgently need it for the TWO...

    White plastic screw caps

Diyisfun, no I didn't; I only remembered that after I'd got home. Will definitely check to see; as far as I can remember, I think it was in one of those packets with a dark burgandy backing card; ya know the ones that you see all the time at diy places.

Thanks big-all, Deluks, Scrit. £40, £50, £60, £65????? You are joking, right?! Thanks for the warning everyone! No way I could get a saw AND a blade at those prices! Can I get away with a really cheap one just for the current job only (it's only a few inches; for the sides of the U...

    Circular saw advice

Thanks harryc. I am a regular buyer on ebay but am a bit apprehensive getting this sort of thing from ebay, as I find it easier to deal with a retailer, etc, with regards to any problems arising. Will look into it though, as it is a consideration; thanks.

    Circular saw advice

Hi again. Been doing some research and the Draper 64717 seems to be plentiful on the web; around £50. Is this saw any better than the cheap ones like Wickes or B&Q own brand, etc, or would it make more sense just to go for the cheap ones. I REALLY don't want to spend that much at the...

    White plastic screw caps

Thanks JasonB. I think it may be safer to go for the ones you've suggested as they are foolproof to work, but would the following be suitable as well? Never heard of 'blind holes'! They are exactly 15mm. http://www.diyessentials.com/shopWebSite/php/showProducts.php?plu=045.00.118 Thanks.

    White plastic screw caps

Yep, spot on Jason B. http://www.hafele.com/images/HWW-products-production-connectors-minifix_rdax_135x145.jpg That's exactly how it looks. 'It is usual for them to be left visible on 99% of flatpack carcases.' WHY????
