    When should I plant out my runner beans . . . . ?

I have grown them from seed and they are now about 1.5 feet tall and ready to be planted outside . . . . . but the cold weather is here, 11 degrees celsius in Manchester this weekend. Should I hang on or just go for it and plant out?

Main Combi 30 HE . . . hot water disappears

Thanks. I just tried it on the bath. Ran the hot water on full, no problem . . . . . but then reduced it to a trickle and slowly the hot water disappeared . . . . . pushed it back up to full flow and no hot water at all, gone. Went to the bathroom sink about 2mins later and ran the hot...

Main Combi 30 HE . . . hot water disappears

Hi we have had a Main Combi 30 HE for about 5 years now and suddenly we are experiencing loss of hot water in the two showers we have. Any adjustment to the shower thermostat or water flow seems to trip the hot water off. A reset of the combi seems to bring it back. We are replacing one of...

    Downspout drain

Thanks, we have a similar product in place but the surrounding soil is higher than the drain and it still gets clogged so I am thinking about raising the level by using a gully surround or some well placed bricks?

    Downspout drain

Hi . . . hope this is the right area to ask this question. . . . . We have a downspout at the front of the house which leads down in to a drain which has been fitted slightly lower than the soil around it. It doesn't seem quite right and I'm wondering what I could do to improve it both...

    Leaking shower cubicle driving me maaaad . . . . .

We recently had our shower cubicle door refitted (removed, cleaned, refitted and resealed) as we were experiencing a constant small leak in one corner. The door was refitted with no sealant on the inside, bottom and sides as is advised, but we are now experiencing a different leak. Water is...

    Taking off a very heavy door . . . . . . .

It's sticking on the side . . . . and we've just painted the door frame which has made it worse. Should we concentrate on the door frame rather than the door. The frame has those fire proofing strips in them to add an extra hurdle.

    Taking off a very heavy door . . . . . . .

I am taking off a very heavy door to plane a small section because it is sticking in the door frame (I don't own a circular saw). Do I need to remove the screws from the hinges or would you expect there to be a pin I can pop out. Any assistance in removing v heavy doors would be...

    Toilet runs on when flushed . . . .

We've noticed our toilet runs on for longer than it used to, with a trickle of water for an extra 15-20 secs or so. What could be the reason for this? Also, finding it a puzzle to understand how you get in to the tank as the lid appears to be fixed to the tank. Photo attached. Any help...

Can anyone recommend an adjustable shower door . . ?

Hi, we are considering replacing our shower door due to a small anoying leak that we can't get to the bottom of. But the gap appears to be an odd length, 1160mm. Can you get adjustable shower doors/frames . . or are most of the adjustable? Any recommendations would be gratefully...

How to avoid outside tap pipe splitting in frost . . . .

Last year the pipework leading down to our outside tap split in the heavy frost . . . this despite me turning off the water from inside the house and leaving the tap open during the winter. I assume there was still some water remaining in the pipework. I would like to avoid the same...
