    Access Panel

First I need to replace the tile which has the new flush button, and then I need to secure the small panel of tiles that was cut out in order to access the cistern. Question 1; it would make life easier if I could get something for around the flush button to hide the holes where the old...

    Patch Repair (photos included)

The 'Wattle and Daub' will definitely be solid but it's a bit bumpy with highs and lows. Can I use bonding and then skim?

Thank you. Do you think gluing some plasterboard on that will be okay?

    Patch Repair (photos included)

Following a leaky pipe under the floor I now have to patch repair some plaster where the water has sucked into the wall. The background is like mud with straw and small stones in it. Should I let this dry out naturally, or use a dehumidifier? It's in a cold tucked away corner and will take a...

Leak from water pipe (picture included)

Found the leak quite easily. There was a tiny jet of water spraying out of the black pipe from underneath the wall. A plumber mate cut out a piece of the black pipe and replaced with the blue. Thank you for your help.

Leak from water pipe (picture included)

What great help, thank you. Once the water is turned off in the street, I will also have to ask them to isolate in some way upstairs I guess?

Leak from water pipe (picture included)

Thanks Madrab. It looks highly likely its a damaged pipe under the floor. So I've got to take a stab and start breaking out somewhere, the listening stick won't help me pin point it though, will it? Yes, I can turn it off in the street.

Leak from water pipe (picture included)

Thanks Terry, if I need it resolving quickly, am I looking at breaking up our floor, or is there a less intrusive solution of determining that it is definitely the main feed?

Leak from water pipe (picture included)

I spoke to the water board this morning and they confirmed the feed outside our front door serves us, and the flat above. The pipe you see in the corner of that room is going up to the flat above, the stop tap is seized open btw. The meter outside is spinning consistently, I asked upstairs...

Leak from water pipe (picture included)

Hi, Below this black line is where the walls are very damp. The carpets and concrete floor are dry. Both walls shown here are internal and there is no sign of damp on the other side of these walls and there is no sign of water ingress from above. So the leak must be below the floor and is...

Leak from water pipe (picture included)

The wall on the left is a masonry brick wall (internal) and that door internal, no obvious damp course.

Leak from water pipe (picture included)

I'm guessing this pipe has a leak below ground and is the reason there is so much damp in this area. What is the best way to approach this, I don't just dig up the concrete floor do I? Thank you in advance for any assistance.

    Toilet pan rocking

I’ll try that first and see how it goes, thanks.

    Toilet pan rocking

Yes, it’s got a low level cistern fixed onto the wall, all of which is hidden behind a ply built enclosure.

    Toilet pan rocking

Our toilet pan is rocking, I went to tighten the 2 screws on the side of the pan (the screws don’t go into the floor) they go parallel to the floor and I’m guessing into a some sort of fixing bracket, but the screws go into thin air, so I’m guessing the brackets have slipped out of place. I...

    Damp on wall

Not sure about a water meter but I will check. That Zinsser product is designed to hold water back, I can't see why that wouldn't work?
