    Cross flow issues

I'm afraid I can't isolate the feeds to the shower. The engineer said if I fix the cross over issue it will fix the hot water. He said boiler is all fine even after replacing heat exchanger.

    Cross flow issues

So I had a chance to do the following today: Close all isolators hot and cold on all three taps. Turned on the shower and it made no affect. I tried turning the thermostat in all directions slowly and it barely made a difference to the temperature. So it looks like the shower thermostat needs...

    Cross flow issues

Sorry not sure I follow. Shut everything down at each tap and the mains stop cock? The shower valve is concealed so I'm not sure if it has isolation, even if it did I'd have to rip out tiles. Wouldn't it just be a simple case of closing the hot valve on each tap and seeing which still flows?

    Cross flow issues

I've got three mixer taps in the house and they all have isolation valves on both cold and hot. The shower thermostatic valve I'm unable to check as it's concealed behind tiles.

    Cross flow issues

Hi, I had a new vaillant combi boiler installed a year and a half go, powerflushed etc. Water temp was fine then could have a hot shower. Recently in the last couple months the hot water in the shower has become lukewarm. In kitchen tap the temp fluctuates from 39-45 degrees Celsius. This is...

Insulate internal garage fire door - cold kitchen

That might be a good shout. My boiler is in the corner of the kitchen and I boxed in the heating pipes leading upstairs. I could tee off then and install a radiator. That would probably be the last resort though. The skylight is fixed and non opening but we may have to install a blind on it...

Insulate internal garage fire door - cold kitchen

The vault is around 10ft at highest point. 7.5ft at lowest. The vaulted ceiling is only in front of the garage, the rest (original) Kitchen has a normal ceiling. There are external walls on two sides, garden and neighbour, and then one side has an insulated cavity wall to garage (not sure if...

Insulate internal garage fire door - cold kitchen

1680w, the mat is 12m squared which is heating the area that is not covered by the kitchen units.

Insulate internal garage fire door - cold kitchen

That's what I'm thinking, to insulate from garage side but was wondering if anyone has gone that route and which method they used. The mat is a warmup 140w per metre. We have radiators upstairs but all downstairs is electric underfloor, which works well apart from the new kitchen.

Insulate internal garage fire door - cold kitchen

It just has a corner threshold with two rubber strips that are not in contact with the door. The kitchen area is not huge. The garage door is the one at the top centre left.

    Electric underfloor heating is tripping

Not yet, but I will be getting an electrician to check and test everything. Just have another issue I need to fix first (cold air, have created another thread). Thanks

Some pictures. If I just stand in front of the door I can feel the cold air.

Insulate internal garage fire door - cold kitchen

Hi all, I had my kitchen/garage extension done a month ago and now that winter is upon us the kitchen is freezing. The kitchen has now been extended to the back of my garage. I initially had a lean to between the house and garage but I got rid of this to make the garage bigger. Everything was...

    Electric underfloor heating is tripping

Thought I'd update this thread as I read lots where the op hasn't responded so don't know whether or not the issue was fixed. In my case I gave the builder a chance to fix it and the issue was at the fused spur connection, I don't know exactly how he fixed it (he was the one to wire it) but it...

    Electric underfloor heating is tripping

    1. Not worked before, although it is a brand new system with a new thermostat. 2. It's a dedicated circuit back to the consumer unit via fused spur, although at the unit they connected it to the same fuse that is supplying existing ufh in a different area (dinning).

    Electric underfloor heating is tripping

I've managed to get a price for a ufh specialised. They are charging 460+vat to locate and fix, but i will have to cut the flooring myself. Does anyone know exactly how they would fix an earth leak fault, after pin pointing the location? I thought they would only use a thermal camera if the...

    Electric underfloor heating is tripping

It's rcd with test button. Ok, I'll be getting an electrician to come in as they have to provide the electrical certificate. The original electrician left the country. Only added to the long list of problems...

    Electric underfloor heating is tripping

It's possible but highly unlikely they screwed something. If it was it would be near the door lining which joins the other floor but was right near the edge. Wouldn't this show up in the resistance test? So do you think it's worth getting a heating floor specialist in before I attempt to pull...

    Electric underfloor heating is tripping

Hi all, I've been lurker of these forums as there is a wide range of helpful information. I'm coming to the end of a stressful kitchen extension having had issues with the builders. We've got electric underfloor heating installed on the ground floor of or house which has worked fine for the...
