Would you work for Gary Neville?

Apparently he's banned builders working on his sites from flying the national flag. And made a video stating white middle aged men are the problem. I would have thought that after supporting starmer, the id scheme and pensioners winter payment cuts alone would have led him to lay quiet on the...

Is revealing a cars service history a security risk.

I asked a dealer on auto trader to send a photo of the service history. They said they don't do it for security reasons. I asked for the dates of the services instead but they ignored it. So is this a thing? I would think it's not unreasonable to see this before setting off on a long journey...

Changing design from render to cladding after planning permission granted.

Just wondering if anyone has an idea about this. Got planning for render but for various reasons believe cladding would be best. I assume I'd have to do something regarding planning? I would like to clad the back and sides as well so I'm wondering if that would be a issue as well?

Any suggestions how to break in to my own car?

Hello I left the car at a friend's house for a couple of weeks. Thinking I was being clever I disconnected the battery in case the alarm went off. When I tried to open it with the physical key it didn't work. I remember a couple of years ago the door handle wouldn't work which I put down to the...

    Anyone used prop pals?

I'm thinking about giving these a try. I think they only came out a couple of years ago. They can slip through a gap the size is a brick and have a handle on them at one end to wind it up the last bit rather than fight with the acrow handle. Just wondered if anything has any thoughts on them...

    Gas meter box build in

Was wondering if anyone knows anything about how these need to be put in. I'll attach a picture that SGN gave out but I'm not sure about it. Firstly they seem to be saying that a membrane above should be 1300mm wider than the box. So that would be nearly 1700 wide and unless I'm mistaken that...

Advice on buying a smoke alarm.

I thought I'd better replace our smoke alarm. A battery powered one but I thought you guys would know better than most. I had a look on Screwfix and got a bit bewildered by the choices. It's there anything to look or for? Optical etc or compliant with any particular EN standard. And presumably...

Do you need a vertical dpc below the damp course?

Hello, I'm referring to where the new cavity wall connects to the existing outside wall. I intend to cut the bricks out and connect the inside wall of the extension to the inside skin of the house. I wasn't going to do this until I got to the dpc height. But is it necessary to do something...
