    Tell me about it, we had a 2003 Micra with only 11k miles on it and the chain had stretched, spoke to folk in the know Nissan wise and it turns out a lot of early Nissan stuff that shared components with Renault had timing chains made of chocolate!! Needless to say we sold it within 1 month!!

    As John said, timing chain issues, our Nissan Micra only had 11k miles on it and it kept throwing up an engine light on the dash, after speaking to many guys "in the trade" it turns out the chains are made of chocolate and our chain had stretched!! Don't know if this is affecting your car though.

    Cheers guys, done a bit more digging and found quite a few problems listed, especially in my price range because they are all high milers. Looks like we are veering towards the Honda CRV Automatic now, these do seem to have good reports about them.
