Door cavity reveal, bridged, not closed

Theres no other lintel support. It would appear that my bathroom floor is resting on only a 100x100 beam, thats notched down to half that, 50x100, then resting on whats only 100x25mm bit of brick. I guess the right move is to geta concrete one placed in of the correct size and some rework on...

Door cavity reveal, bridged, not closed

I have added more pictures to the post above, I removed some cwi by the beam. It looks dry and the insulation is dry. We have a porch so that wall is a bit protected from the elements. When we moved in the shower tray was leaking, im wondering if it still is. I have uploaded a picture of the...

    Choosing top coat type

Reporting back. Took the valspar stuff back, bought leyland trade white matt instead. That actually actually states you can water it down. Did a 50/50 mix and went on great. Needed two coats on the ceiling as that is the finish we wanted then went with a dulux easycare colour. Nice paint. Went...

    Choosing top coat type

Sorry for opening another thread regards to new plaster. I have searched and got varied responses. We have got all the upstairs bedrooms to paint, all new plaster dried out. The plan is to use 50/50 matt emulsion. Non vinyl. Thats what most people reccomend after searching. I bought some...

    Bridged dpc, trenched out.

Hi woody. I have been expecting a reply from you! So generally speaking no i dont have damp issues other than the corner of the house that had a bridged dpc line. We have a drive down the side of the house to the garages at the rear. this gradient slope is how the dpc line has been bridged. At...

Reccomend wetroom tray brands. General Q's

Reds, that looks quality work and what you described is pretty much what i had in mind for the construction. I see you have a supported framed cistern inside the wall, with a floating toilet, had any niggles with that cistern given the fact its hidden?

Reccomend wetroom tray brands. General Q's

Cheers reds. What grout brand did you use on yours? Also i have seen trays fitted several ways, floorboards cut for a flush fit to 22mm boards. The other way i have seen it is all boards removed, new batten fitted to joists 18mm lower than original joist height, so once the ply is fitted, you...

Reccomend wetroom tray brands. General Q's

Hi guys thanks for replys. I have seen the impey ones, those have been around for a while right? Is the one you got with the rotating waste that acts almost like an adjustable offset if you know what i mean? So far things i have noticed between brands is weight limit, tile thickness...

Reccomend wetroom tray brands. General Q's

Hi denso I do understand what you are saying but theres a lot of wet room designs that do. I will post a picture of the bathroom. Having a screen that will fold flat to the wall will help minimize the splash radius. The door way is quite close to where it will be. I will admit the screens are...

    supporting wall identification

Cheers woody. I was expecting to support the beams as you have stated as i also expected some movment/sag. All that old plaster on the ceiling is coming down. So far every room has been shelled out. Mess aside, it deffo looks nicer in the end rather than patching stuff.

    supporting wall identification

Hi tictac. Thanks for the reply. I will see if i can get a better angle tonight in the loft. Il probably just have to get up there. Definitly nothing under it down stairs and theres nothing pressing down on it in the loft. I think i understand what your saying. Put a beam across the two...
